Anyone had a beta yet?

I had a beta and progesterone drawn yesterday and am waiting patiently for my results.  I was hoping my MW would call me tonight!

Does anyone have any numbers they want to share?  :)

I had blood drawn last Monday and again on Wednesday. Monday's was 143, I think, and Wednesday's was 314 which is a doubling time of 29hrs. I had light brown spotting for 5 days so I was relieved to hear those numbers. The spotting has stopped for a few days now and as far as I know I'm still pregnant, : ).

I hope you get some good numbers.

I had a beta on last Tuesday, and it was 263 at 15 dpo, and yesterday tuesday, a week later, and it was 4682.  Doubling rate is a little over 39 hours! Ultrasound is next tuesday.  It's such a relief to have those numbers to reassure me that the pregnancy seems to be progressing!

I had a beta on 2/27 which was 12dpIUI and it was 140.  The repeat on 2/29 at 14dpIUI was 273 which is a doubling time of 47 hours.  I would love to have one more but my RE says it is not necessary.  My progesterone was also drawn at the first one and it was 92.  I am on progesterone supplements though.

May I ask why you have this tested? I'm not getting my first apt till 8 wks because that's the earliest the doc will see me. We don't have midwives where I live so I'm looking into traveling midwives.... Don't think they come up here (high altitude) so I will probably end up with the same delivery as last time which was just awesome (hospital).

Anyway, jus curious!

I had hcg and progesterone drawn on Monday which was 4 weeks and 4 days after LMP. HCG was 5000 and Progesterone was 27. My doctor and I decided I didn't need Progesterone supplementation (the reason I took the test in the first place). Hope all goes well....

Juiliee- I am seeing an RE (reproductive endocrinologist) and my last two pregnancies were losses, so they're monitoring closely.  I imagine that the other ladies have theirs taken for some sorta other similar concerns.

Yes, I'm a bit curious why your doctors are bringing you in for betas, too. I had a beta drawn for my past two pregnancies, but that was because I had complications with one of them and with DD I had lost two babies before her. My MW won't even see me until 8 weeks this time.

In my case I have a history of fibroids (estrogen dominance) and low progesterone levels. A year ago I also had an "open myomectomy" - surgical removal of the fibroid where they cut into the uterus from the top like a C-section. I guess there was a question if I might need progesterone supplementation. It looks like it's going fine so far... trying to not focus on this too much and I'm not repeating the test for that reason. om.gif

Ok that's what I kinda thought... Sorta at-risk pregnancies because of previous pregnancies. The didn't even ask if this was my first or not. I kinda thought they'd want to check levels since I'm bfing but maybe not?

Juliee- If you have concerns about hormone levels because of bf, maybe you can aske them to check your betas?  All it is is a quick poke for a blood draw, and then another a day, or a few days later, to see where you're at.  They took my progesterone, too, which is what I'm guessing you may be slightly concerned about?  If you need reassurance, I would call them and ask them to check.  There's not dr visit or exam or anything....   :)  Sometimes, like with any other test, it only adds unnecessary worry, though, too.

I got mine today and the hcg was 2563 but the progesterone was only 15 - not sure exactly how far along I am (5w?)

The progesterone has me concerned......

I haven't been in to see my MW but I just went to the lab.  I had an unexplained 13 week loss 2 years ago, and it really rattled me.

I'm also considered high risk (for mc at least) due to my very advanced maternal age.  Of course, not to be pessimistic, but I need to prepared for the worst.

I think every doctor is different - when I saw an OB for my first 6 years ago, they routinely send you out for one?  Kind of like you don't believe you that you're pregnant?

I don't remember getting the #s back then, just "you're pregnant".  (duh).

Finnegansmom - I did my test to see if I needed to be supplemented with Progesterone. I think they told me if it's under 20 it's not a bad idea...you might ask your midwife about it.
