Dark patch of hair on my blonde 3yr olds head

Hi

Has anyone ever experienced a dark patch of hair on a lighter coloured head of hair. The "Mallon" light streak/patch is common but I have never seen a darker patch. My now 3yr old has had a tear drop shaped patch since he was around 5-6weeks old and the hair just grows normally.

I'm not concerned in any way, just curious if anyone else has seen this

My older son's soccer buddy, who we've known for over a decade, has the opposite:  darkish brown hair with a good-sized (toddler-fist size, perhaps) very light spot.  It stayed and just looks kind of cool now.  It's less visible when he has short hair and his friends think it's neat looking.

Thanks v much, I've seen loads of light patches too just never a dark one.



My 3 1/2 year old son has the same thing. Not sure what it is, but it isn't any big deal : )
