I'll go first!

Name: Megan

Weeks/Days along: 29 weeks + 2 days

Appointments: I'm going to a La Leche League meeting on Wednesday morning.  I have my 30 week appointment with the MW on Thursday and then I think she said it will be every two weeks after that.

Symptoms: I seem to be getting round ligament pain again lately.

Food: Yeah, I eat it, but I'm not that excited about it and definitely not motivated to get groceries or cook.

Exercise: I need to try and get back into my daily walking after being sick last week.

Body changes and other milestones: Everyone is mesmerized by my large boobs. orngbiggrin.gif I find my students sometimes distracted by my belly during dance classes.  I think it's hilarous.

Thoughts: Rambling... I am so excited that it's supposed to be in the 70's all week.  All those cute pictures of Meredith in dresses make me want to do the same!  I had a coupon awhile back to sign up for a free bottle from Avent.  The bottle came in the mail this weekend and I spent a ridiculously long amount of time exclaiming to DH about how cute it was.  He humored me for awhile.  I'm anxious to start accumulating and organzing things for the baby but I know that I have at least two showers coming up in the next month and everyone says don't go out and spend money until I see what we get.  It's getting more and more difficult to wait!  The neighbors brought by the most adorable little "time out" bench.  I told DH he'll probably be spending more time on it than anyone else. winky.gif

Have a great week everyone!

I had my 32 week check-up last Friday and I'm now measuring 3 weeks ahead!  Has anyone else jumped like that?  My other babies all measured close to right on with their weeks.  With this one, I've been measuring 1 ahead since they started the measurements until this last time when it was 3 ahead.  Weird.  My midwife said not to worry about it, maybe we'd do an ultrasound if I did that 2 or 3 times.  Do you think this means I might have a big baby?

Doing pretty good otherwise.  I cannot go on long walks anymore though.  My hips, legs, and back have been hurting quite a bit and I definitely feel like I'm doing the pregnant shuffle. When walking with my dh I struggle to keep up these days.  He is so much taller than me anyway so his strides and speed are way faster than mine.  He feels like he's keeping a snails pace to stay with me.  lol   A couple of my pants and shirts are feeling small--pants not going up enough and shirts not going down enough, but I don't want to buy anything else at this point.  Crazy to think a few months ago those clothes were drowning me.  haha A good friend said she has some stuff I can borrow and I hope to get them soon.  :-)

I put up some jungle themed vinyl clings in baby's room a few days ago.  It turned out SO cute.  I also put an ABC border around the tops of two walls.  I love how all these little additions make the whole thing seem more real.  I think I will wash the clothes we have and put them in drawers soon.  I'm resisting buying anything else until after my baby shower, which is just under 2 weeks away.  It's hard b/c everyone time I see a cute baby something at the store I want it.  lol

I'm also LOVING the spring weather.  I have tulips coming up and neighbors have crocus already in bloom.  Dh spent Saturday working on our new garden plots/boxes.  Can't wait to get one in as we didn't have one last year (this house did not have a garden when we moved in).

Weeks/Days along: 32 Weeks 4 days

Appointments: I have my 32 week appointment tomorrow

Food:Chocolate, salt and vinegar lays chips :)

Exercise: More walking recently.

Body changes and other milestones: I coughed so hard i peed myself last night :( totally embarrassing and I was the only one awake ... more leaking colostrum :(

Thoughts: I want her to be born when she is ready, im scared she will come early, but at the same time i wouldnt mind it either, I wouldnt mind 37-38 weeks, but i want her healthy and happy

Name: Janelle

Weeks/Days along: 31 Weeks 4 days

Appointments: Next monday is my ultrasound!  I will be 32 weeks.

Symptoms: Just generally feeling like crap, especially at night.  Congested all the time and have been since the beginning, but I am so sick of it.  Can't sleep a lot of the time because I can't breathe.

Food: Still not super excited about any food, but there are a few ethnic restaurants I keep going to over and over - greek, indian, french, mexican.  I can't get excited to go to any of the regular restaurants in our area and eating at home just sucks these days.  I wonder how much money I am spendign on eating out all the time.... I feel like I eat out AT LEAST once a day generally!!  Awful, huh?  I eat healthy when I go out but still.

Exercise: Working as a massage therapist has been wearing me out, haven't done much else.  I am quitting in a couple weeks.

Body changes and other milestones: Belly still growing.

Thoughts: I can tell he is huge now, when he moves, it isn't little twitches like a few months ago, it's like serious movement.  And he will stick his leg out in a certain spot and just leave it there so i will have this huge bump on my belly until he decides to move it, which is sometimes 10 minutes later!  How funny!  Slowly collecting all our nursery items and all the other baby stuff we want.  I picked up a baby carrier thingy from a second hand baby store in our area yesterday for $8.50!  And it's cute, it's called a snugli.  Never heard of it, but I tried a few on and that was the one we liked best.  I tried on a babybjorn, which was the one on my registry, and it didn't fit right.  It seemed too small, maybe they come in different sizes?  Anyway it doesn't matter now, cu i got this one and it's awesome!  I also got a wrap sort of carrier for my baby shower, so I will have both options to use.  No idea how to use the wrap one, i don't even know what it is called, it was just a wrap with some sort of attachment thingy on one side presumably to make it bigger or smaller.  I think it goes across your chest to carry baby.  We will have to experiment with it!

Also have cosleeper and a bouncer thingy on the way, both of those I wanted before he got here.  Still need to get my breast pump which runs about $250 on amazon.... whoa.  It's the brand my friend told me to get and when I went to my child birth class, the lady actually told us brands she hated for breast pumps and brands we should get.  She said the cheap ones are made cheaply and she was very passionate about getting certain brands, Medela is one of them, and that's the one we have, so I will just suck it up and buy it!  I want a good one.  I want a good everything, that's the theme for me, right?? :P

Nursery is ALLLMMMOST done... just have to paint letters and get wall decorations up then I can finally take pics and show people.  DH won't let me show anyone until it's done!  How annoying, I wanna show everyone cuz it is SO cute!!

Name: "casmer"

Weeks/Days along: 29w4d

Appointments: Next week I'll have my 31-week appointment. I expect more of the same...hearing the heartbeat (which is always nice!) and asking the midwife or doctor some questions.

Symptoms: Breathing is getting more and more difficult.  I'm really trying to work on my posture and deep belly breathing.  It really sucks when I forget those two things. Lots of round ligament pain.

Food: I go through phases where nothing sounds good and then everything sounds good. It can be frustrating.

Exercise: Gym and walking

Body changes and other milestones: My belly is getting bigger, of course.  I think my breasts have slowed down their growth for awhile now.  I really don't want them to get any bigger...omg, it's just too much!

Thoughts: I had a dream last night that I was playing with someone's baby and I kept telling the baby how I was so excited to meet my baby.  I can't wait to meet her!  I can't believe it'll be less than three months...ack!

Weeks/Days along: 30w3d

Appointments: Next Tuesday, meeting one of the two midwives I haven't met yet.

Symptoms: Not many I can remember from moment to moment other than being bigger, clumsier, tired-er (har), etc.

Food: This >

I did make an awesome dinner on Saturday that involved chicken legs marinated in my own concoction of curry powder and a bunch of other stuff, and homemade thai-style vegetable curry...that was good. And I made some AMAZING chocolate chip cookies (hurray Smitten Kitchen!)...but mostly I am not too excited about any food. Or at least not foods I actually eat...like, I don't eat beef ever, but corned beef and cabbage sounds like it would completely change my life right now. Oh well.

Exercise: Not much this week. The kids have been sick so other than a long-ish walk with DD2 last Wednesday, I haven't done anything. And this week it's supposed to rain like crazy so, I'm guessing I won't get much exercise this week either. I'll try to do yoga, but I haven't even been doing that lately. :-(

Body changes and other milestones: Everything is just a bit bigger and rounder than last week. Nothing too exciting. My MIL informed me I'd "grown" (hah!) since the last time she saw me (a few days before!)...gee lady, yathink? She had 4 kids. You'd think she'd remember it tends to happen at 30 weeks pregnant. :-)

Thoughts: I feel like...the next 10 weeks are going to fly by. And that scares me a little bit...but I feel ready at the same time. I made my PP must-have list and I'm starting to think of my list of things to do before baby arrives. The next thing I need to do is go get out my boxes of baby stuff and sort through what to keep, what to throw out, etc...and wash it all. And then I have to figure out where to put it in our tiny tiny tiny place. Nope...on second thought, I think I'll procrastinate a little longer on that one. I also need to interview a few ladies regarding placenta encapsulation. I think I've definitely decided to do it, I just have to find someone I trust to handle my placenta and prepare it for consumption. eek!

And Shastalily we've had such gorgeous weather lately...all the fruit trees around here are in bloom and there are daffodils and tulips all over the place - I love it!! I know we need the rain, but I am so sad that the forecast is predicting torrential downpours for our area for the next 10 days. greensad.gif I would LOVE it if this babe could be born in weather just like we've had recently....that would do terrific things for my post partum mood. smile.gif

Name: roxi

Weeks/Days along: 32 wks, 5ds

Appointments: touring birth center this weekend, birth class tomorrow, etc.

Symptoms: just feeling awkward; achy when i wake up or have to turn over in bed

Food: almond butter & honey sandwiches, mango smoothies, tacos, indian food, etc.

Exercise: walking, wii fit, yoga video

Body changes and other milestones: basketball belly

Thoughts: waiting for my rocker to be delivered :) i hope it is okay, we never saw it or anything, just ordered online. still measuring about 2 weeks behind. i'd like that to mean a smallish baby, but everything i've read says that these measurements are inaccurate. we went to dinner at a friend's house this weekend; they have a 4 month old & lent us his fischer price starlight swing, which i had on the registry but now i removed it (yay! it is an expensive swing). it is funny seeing them, their baby is very cute but they do things totally differently than we are hoping to--they were talking about starting him on solids soon!! and he's formula fed; when they put him to bed they let him cry it out; she keeps telling me what kind of stroller to buy but i'm going to wait on that, i plan on wearing baby and will get a stroller later if i need one... i wish we had more friends who had babies so we could see other people being successful parenting in other ways. anyhow. i am excited to see the birth center this weekend--i would love to have a water birth... the only problem is i still can't drive and if we decide to have the baby there (it's an hour away) i am nervous about how things will go as we get closer to the due date--do you have to see the doctor more often? i'm at every 2 weeks now. i seriously need to go and get my learner's permit & then my license, it should have been done forever ago but my husband is so busy all the time and there is no way i could get to the office on my own (no public transport here). ugh. also, we looked at some houses this week--one was horrifying (dark, creepy) and the other was nice but about $400 more than what we want to pay/the average rent for this area. weirdly, i appreciate the house we have now more after seeing the yucky house, but it would still be nice to move.

oh, & ps, i started watching this show call the midwife--it's very good! its a BBC production and the first season just aired--if you like downton abbey you might like it, it's a historical drama about a young woman who works as a midwife in a poor neighborhood in london in the 1950s. i just torrented the episodes, shhh...

Weeks/Days along: 32 weeks today!

Appointments:  Well, I thought I had one today.  I had it on my calendar for today.  I showed up at the Midwife's office today.  The appointment is Wednesday.  Sheepish.gif  Whoopsie!

Symptoms:  My heartburn/acid reflux is getting worse.  I'm so sick of it.  It doesn't matter what I eat or don't eat, I get heartburn.  Water gives me heartburn, so even if I take a Tums and get rid of it, as soon as I drink water it's back.  So I've just been suffering through it during the day.  :(  Also, my feet and back are starting to hurt.  Nothing major yet though.

Food:  Blah.  I don't have a problem eating.  I have a problem grocery shopping and cooking.  I just don't want to do it.

Exercise:  Some walking.

Body changes and other milestones:  Nothing new.

Thoughts:  We will have a baby in 8 weeks.  Or sooner.  joy.gifblush.gifdizzy.gifenergy.giffaint.gifcarrot.gif

I'd suggest heading over to the babywearing section of MDC and doing some reading.  There's lots of info in there.  I'd also be careful with the Snugli, as it is not the best thing for either baby or mama, there are far better (more ergonomic) choices out there.  Just a guess, but your "wrap thing" may be a ring sling... is the attachment on one end a pair of rings?  Honestly, that's all you need - that can get you from NB to toddler, it is one of the more versatile carriers, but there is a learning curve.  It's easiest if you know anyone who can show you how to put it on, and YouTube can show you the carries you can do with it - personally I prefer upright carries, which are far safer (and easier to master) than reclined carries.

I know.  They said 50% chance today, but I'm about to let DS outside to play, it's so beautiful.  But 4-5 inches in the next few days.  I know what that means for this summer - food prices are going to go up again.  Particularly tree fruit.  The trees have already bloomed, and the rain will knock all the blooms down, and the crop will be a fraction of what it might have been.  I know we need the rain, badly, but it's a very frustrating weather pattern to go cold, warm and then wet.  Mother Nature really prefers cold, wet and then warm.

Not a ton going on here.  I'm 29 weeks today.  Next MW appt is next week.  I finally ordered Hypnobabies, so I can get started with that, although DS seems to have lost my iPod somewhere - need to find that.  We're still in decluttering mode, I started another room this morning.  I have about 6 weeks to get this room done, as it need to be EMPTY by the day of my shower.  I know we can do it, but right at the moment it's very daunting.  I am getting frustrated with my friends though, I sent out an email last week detailing what I had already decided for the shower and what I needed help with, and not one of them (out of 3) have responded.  I cannot handle doing all of it myself, I'm going to be 35 weeks pg.  I really need the help.  But this is highlighting why I decided to just host it myself.  Guess I should just send out invitations and order the food and let the rest shake out as it will.

Fair bit of abdominal pain.  Thankfully the contractions have finally stopped, but if I don't sleep with a pillow wedged under my belly I wake up with severe pain and can barely move.  But wedging a pillow under my belly is uncomfortable and makes for a restless night, and I don't get a whole lot of sleep.  Kinda damned if I do, damned if I don't.  irked.gif  The support belt only helps some of the pain.  I'm definitely feeling like I'm going to need a pp support belt this time around.  I remember being unable to laugh without pain with DS, and this time is already shaping up to be worse.

I took all the baby blankets and the cradle bedding downstairs this morning to be washed, and moved the cradle into the bedroom (not that there's room for it in there right now).  All of a sudden it makes it feel real.  Weird.

Food - eh.  I'm eating, but not really well, and part of that is that not a whole lot appeals, and part of that is the lack of energy.  Some days my lunch consists of an apple, a couple chunks of cheese and a handful of almonds.  Not fabulous, but not terrible either.

Ok, back to work with me.

Name: Sky

Weeks/Days along: 30 weeks

Appointments: Had an appt with my nurse midwife this morning. Baby is doing great, my belly is measuring at 30 weeks and she changed her position from transverse to head down!

Symptoms: Round ligaments have been a bit sore and hips are sore if I lay too long on one side, so at night I change often. And welcome to the "frequent "pee pee' club LOL!

Food: still not a big apetite but eating very well and healthy.

Exercise: Enjoying the gym still, mondays is water Zumba, wed is prenatal yoga and friday is regular class Zumba PARTY! I don't do too much high energy on the class I tone it down a bit but it feels great!

Body changes and other milestones: I think i'm showing a bit more and enjoying the baby bump, I put a 20wk and 30 wk pic up in belly shots to compare myself :-) Thursdays are my message at the spa she does a warm rock and crystal with traditional indian prenatal message, wonderful!!!

Thoughts: DD is off for spring break this week so tmr we will head to ABQ for a few days to see museums and relax etc... but not too far away. It dawned on me when the receptionist made my OB appt for every 2 weeks now that its just under 10 week until we meet this babe!!! so getting excited. I need to finish a hat, the skirtie and maybe some cute ruffled wool shorties etc.. as well as send out my registry list, all my family and friends have been asking me for like weeks now LOL! I felt kind of weird sending it out but they insist since they are all far away. Funny thin is there is only a car seat, a brest friend nursing pillow and newborn cloth diapers, a few cute newborn outfits, a taggy blaket and a lamaz toy.... we pretty much purchased or had everything. DH loves to shop for all of our clothes LOL and he is really good at it, I love to find cute baby and kid stuff we already have a swing a delux pack and play a jumper, burp cloths and cloth diapers in the 12+lb size. I gave away my boy cloth diapers in newborn size to friends since we found we are having a girl I want some cute girlie cloth for her , well that is for now :-)

Name: Marisa

Weeks/Days along:  31w 6d

Appointments: 32 week appt on Thursday

Symptoms: Oh boy, as much as I sincerely love being pregnant (and I DO!), I am feeling enough discomfort to make me grumpy and complain-y.  Sitting on the couch in the evening makes my legs terribly restless.  My middle back hurts.  Lying in bed, which has been super comfy, is now pulling and tugging on my ligaments.  I think baby must be going through a growth spurt.

Food: Like a lot of other people here I find myself bizarrely not hungry and with nothing sounding good....but once I do eat, I realize I was starving and the food tastes amazing!  I'm lucky because my man is an incredible cook and absolutely loves to create meals and research recipes, so I get away with doing zero cooking (he's my dream man!). I'm still obsessed with snacking on mandarins and am eating 3-8 a day.  Chocolate is my other main craving.  I know I'm not eating enough protein though, so gotta do something about that.

Exercise: I finally, finally made it to prenatal yoga last week!  It felt great and I was so glad I overcame the leaving-work-ontime hurdle that was, in part, preventing me from going.  I'm going to commit to going as many weeks as I possibly can until the end...

Body changes and other milestones: Outgrowing maternity clothes.  Does anyone else find the under-the-belly maternity pants that fit great in the 2nd trimester just do not work for 30weeks+? I'm still wearing them, but they're cutting in under my belly in a very uncomfortable way.  I didn't want to have to buy anything else, but it looks like I have to.  I'm wearing all nursing bras now and have decided that I care too much about support to give up underwire.  No new stretch marks yet, but the old ones from my twin pregnancy of 10 years ago are showing more now that my belly has grown.

Thoughts: I feel so fortunate that I have three sources of hand-me-downs (all girl babies and I'm having a girl)!  We (my man much more so than me) are super picky though, so we are actually keeping and planning to use about 10% of the clothes we've been handed down.  It's really interesting to see how selective and opinionated he is....even when it comes to free things!  lol  He is not a lover of anything pink or too girly, so that accounts for a lot of the rejects.  I'm totally fine with it and just loving that he is the type of daddy who cares about all this ;)  This is our first baby together (we've both been parents before with other partners) so it's like being first timers in some ways. Also, I wanted to add to Cristeen's comment above that I agree that it's important to read up about carriers and proper infant positioning.  An upright, ergonomic hold for wearer & baby is really important for both comfort & safety.  A wrap or a sling is ideal for newborns who need to be kept in a womblike, fetal hold for the first few months.  Worth the learning curve!

Cristeen - maybe you should just cancel the shower, see if you can pay a sitter and plan a day at the spa? LOL

I wouldn't plan and pay for a bunch of food and things like that for chicks who haven't even contacted you about coming or helping.

I would just really love a day out though. A hair cut (its been 2 years. eek), a pedicure (been five!) and a nice cup of coffee and key lime bar sounds like my idea of heaven at this point. DH has gotten bumped up to full time, so perhaps...I'll just keep dreaming for now. LOL

I'm 32 weeks, 4 days. I am beyond uncomfortable. Next week is my ultrasound to evaluate the baby's kidney for fluid build-up. If the fluid level is too high, they may decide to deliver her early. We are frantically cleaning the house and getting things ready this week, just in case.

Meanwhile, the OB has scheduled my RCS for Saturday, April 28th. YIKES!!! bigeyes.gif That makes it seem so much more real. Can't believe it's only 7 weeks away!

OMG, me too!  I am dying for a haircut.  And instead of a shower I am hiring a house cleaner. pinktongue.gif  I met these awesome ladies who use all nontoxic stuff, and even bring their own mielle vacuum... so I am ready for that!

My friend wanted to have a mother blessing for me... but honestly, I just am not interested. I am totally thankful that she offered, but I feel so busy and stressed these days for a party!

I would rather spend the time organizing, relaxing, and with my big kids... I need to schedule special one on one time with everyone before baby arrives.

Sandy, that does seems super duper soon!

I am 32 weeks, 4 days...

And not freaking out but tired, or wanting to clean.  LOL.  Short on patience these days... and feeling overly busy. I feel like I have so much to do!

yeah, they moved my EDD from the 10th to the 3rd... so it may still be the 10th, but now my mind is counting based on the third!  :)

I don't even know which due date to go with. Nagels says May 7th, U/S said May 1st, I am measuring 35 weeks fundal and I feel tons of low pressure. I feel like its 'too soon' for that! Regardless, May 10th I am going to be griping and complaining and still pregnant. I am almost sure of it...;)  Unless this one shocks me and comes somewhere around 'on time'. LOL

My due date has been, variously: April 29, April 30, May 2nd, May 3rd, and May 6th. My LMP due date is April 29th. An early ultrasound dated me at May 6th, and my OB split the difference and made it the 2nd, then the 3rd. I'm all over the place! Of course, I will be having an RCS on April 28th, so it doesn't really matter.
