is it possible to buy unfiltered or raw red wine vinegar?

If I just want to use a little for flavouring here and there, can I just use regular red wine vinegar instead of raw apple cider vinegar?

ie. how bad is the conventional stuff??

thx.

Is it possible?  Yes.  Will you find it at the grocery store?  Not likely.  I can get raw, unfiltered white or red wine vinegar at the local brew store, where we shop for supplies for beer making.  But that's the only place I've ever seen it.  I do use it, since it is available to me.  Most people don't have that access, although you could take on vinegar brewing if you like, it's not terribly difficult.

thanks for the info.

i probably won't make any right now, since i am super busy.

But I'm wondering how bad is it really to use the conventional red wine vinegar from the grocery store?   Like since its red wine vs a cheap balsamic made with carmel colour, etc.

Eden foods makes a raw unfiltered red wine vinegar with mother.   If you can't find it at your local health food store, you can order it through Vitacost for a reasonable price.
