Welcome to your spotlight on thread, Smilingsara!
Some starter questions:
Where do you live?
What do you do (day job, profession, SAHM, etc.)?
How did you select your MDC name?
How many children do you have?
Ladies, ask away!
My most memorable story I photographed for the paper is probably the first story I did. It was two years ago, nearly now, and it was called "Palmer Fest". Its basically this block on campus, of the university we live about 30 minutes from, that has a huge drunken festival filled with cheap beers and corn hole games. They wanted me there in case of rioting, because that happened last year. Well once it started getting dark, the drunks really came out. They had police on horseback to control the crowds. Some idiot kids pulled out a couch and lit it on fire (and that's what my photograph was of the next day). All in all it was a fun shoot, until I saw my car had been towed for parking it somewhere I wasn't supposed to. That was super fun to figure out at 1 in the morning.
Number of kids: DP and I have talked about 6 a lot. At one point we said 7, because I have a lot of them in my life, birth day, ssn, phone number, etc. I'm thinking 6 still sounds lovely but I'd like to enjoy these two babies for a while and then start trying again in a few years. I am liking the big age gap so far, so we shall see. I've always wanted to have a lot of kids and always wanted to birth at least one myself and have my partner have at least one herself too, so it's worked out just how I wanted it to so far!
My favorite food is probably chicken. I love love love chicken. I also really really enjoy chocolatey cake with a big glass of cold milk.
When I was a kid I always wanted to be a photographer. I always remember playing house and being a photographer. I also used to walk around everywhere taking pictures on old broken cameras, or a yellow one my mom got me when I was about 8. I loved to take pictures, still do! My favorite thing to take pictures of now is rust. I love the colors it makes and love walking around finding it. Urban decay I call it. I think sometimes I also wanted to be a horseback rider. But when I was 17 I fell off a horse and it was a pretty bad fall. I think I got scared and didn't really continue to pursue the horseback riding after it.
We met online, on a dating site. We talked for about a month and she drove the 4 hours to pittsburgh to meet me! It was really sweet of her. We ended up spending the entire day together even though we were just going to have lunch. We went to all of my favorite spots around the city. I fell in love with her the first time I saw her smile so sweetly at me. We dated long distance for a year and then I moved down here and we have barely been apart since! The longest was the 12 days I was in Israel at the beginning of this year.
some pictures. We are terrible, have none of the 5 of us, not a single one.
Showing off the different eye colors of the kiddos. On the left, DDs eyes change to green sometimes.
Thats my partner, without her glasses, in the blue ringer t. They all have different (blue eyed) donors and look very different.
They are very silly. This is rather normal, except they don't all sit on each other all the time. Its usually the oldest two sitting on one another.
And the baby and me.
relax?! Um, movies are always good. I like to read! I love to spend time outside, when its not super hot out of course. I love music too though I can't play an instrument to save my life.
and about ohio, i love that it snows! Although this year we didn't get nearly enough! I love that you can drive the whole state in less than a day. I love the museums around here and up north. I like the hills, and the flatness.
I went on birthright. We saw EVERYWHERE! It was a whole lot of traveling and I was exhausted by the end of the trip, but it was amazing! We flew into Tel aviv, traveled north, traveled south, and then back up north. Saw an entire country in 10 days, it was awesome. I wish the people on my trip had been less into partying and more into touring, but what can I do?! I loved it and now have over 1000 pictures to edit!
