Ha! The funny thing is, I'm pretty bad at grammar in general. But a few things always bug me. I'm glad you clarified lay/lie because I had no idea. I always use them incorrectly!
I taught wee little girls- like ages 3-8. So it wasn't THAT awesome that I was a ballet instructor, LOL! I was kind of a glorified babysitter. I did teach Jr High students in the past, and have taught tap and jazz as well. So fun. I love it. I'm totally out of shape though, so I doubt if I can even touch my toes!
-What's the BEST live show you've ever seen? This is so tough. I am honestly often disappointed after concerts. I've seen a lot of different artists, too, from Snoop Dogg (not even joking) to 311 to John Mayer to Radiohead. I think the best *experience* was Mat Kearney, because we were invited to a private event before where we got to meet him, then were in the front row. Okay, actually I just remembered one- this might seem weird but Linkin Park was amazing.
-Were you named after anybody in your family? If not, where did your name come from? Nope. My mom thought I was going to be a boy, so I was going to be named Jonathan Allen. When I popped out a girl, she kept the initials and named me Jacquelyn Ann.
-What's the greatest risk you've ever taken? Well, I think moving to Portland was quite risky. It didn't seem so at the time, but now as I look back I think WOW, what were we thinking? We sold 80% of our belongings, shipped the rest on Amtrak, and packed us and our 16-month old son into our car and drove 2700 miles across the country. Just a week before our move my DH FINALLY got a firm job offer (he was transferring, but nobody could guarantee full time hours. 6 days before we were to leave, someone called and offered him full time. WHEW!) We weren't even stressing about it though- we were just like, well, something will work out! And thankfully it went unbelievably smoothly.
-What's the best thing you've ever eaten? Absolutely anything on the menu at Portobello.
-Who's you're celebrity crush? YES you can name more than one! Jason Bateman. Holy moses, I am so in love with him. He looks intelligent and always plays characters that are sharp and witty (Arrested Development fans unite, am I right?!) Also, I like a little pure eye candy like Ryan Gosling or Ryan Reynolds. My other fave is Anderson Cooper. Such a silver fox. Wowsers. I'm so smitten. Finally, Matthew McConnaughey. Do I even need to explain that one?
-What traits do you most admire in others? Honesty and integrity. Even if it hurts my feelings (hard to do), I want people to be honest with me. I think along with that is boundaries. I am working on having better personal boundaries, and I want others to have good boundaries with me. I think it's SUPER hard to have good boundaries, so I totally appreciate when I see that in others. Finally, compassion and humor of course!
