Wow!!! What a surprise -  congratulations!!! I'm so glad to hear she's doing well in the NICU and I'm sending good thoughts to you and your new little girl. Especially to her getting home healthy and happy. grouphug.gif

Right now we're not really thinking of anything--just waiting for her lungs to mature.  Day by day, minute by minute.  She's a decent size for her age, but I can't remember specifics right now.  And, of course, we want for her to not develop any infections.  Then the rest comes--figuring out how her brain is faring, how she grows, etc.  At least I'm getting more and more output from the pump and she should start tube feeds with that soon.  I mean, DS nursed for four years (his choice), so this child will have boob juice.  No doubt about it.

The predicted/goal date for going home is her due date.  I know twelve weeks of pregnancy would fly by--at least the third trimester did the last time around.  I hope the NICU rollercoaster proves a similar ride, but i know it will be both lengthy and wild.

I'm home.  Enjoyed my glorious shower and the ability to ransack a loaded fridge.  About to pump again.

I am thinking of you nonstop, unable to imagine what you've gone through with the birth and what you are going to go through in the NICU.  I hope her lungs develop as quickly as possible and she stays infection-free!

She's doing quite well.  Tolerating feeds and she's now on CPAP, which is also slowly being weaned down.  I go in and hold her every morning, then spend afternoons with my son.  I try to get back in the evening to help with changing, oral care, etc.  And then I come home so DH can visit.

So glad to hear she is doing well and is only on CPAP! :-D I hope you are getting enough rest and love too mama <3

Sorry it took me so long to reply. Congrats on your daughter! You sound so strong and so calm in your posts, and I just get this feeling that your daughters has absolutely the perfect parents to handle her. I'm glad pumping is going well and she's progressing smoothly. Positive vibes and blessings for your whole family.

Good! I hold her for a couple hours every day around noon and then DH or I return later, too, for more cuddle time.

She's on a nasal cannula now and they are weaning down the pressure/flow. Feeds are still via OG tube.
