Why do I have carpet beatles in my home? Help!1

Hi,

Well today I have just had enough of these carpet beatles,I just want to cry! I have lived in my home now for 7 years,I think i've always notice the carpet beatles from time to time mainly when its summer,warmer weather,I have found the odd one in my front living room,kitchen,bedroom,bathroom. Yesterday I killed one which was in my bathroom,now this morning when I have just been cleaning living room, and hoovering I spooted one coming out from my fluffy green rug,this is a brand new rug on been down for a matter of weeks,I just wanted to cry when I saw it,makes me feel so on edge in my own house, I am thinking should I move house,I have all laminate flooring throughout house apart from on my stairs,all flooring is new,I've also had new bathroom,kitchen fitted,so why do I still have these horroible little things,someone have any ideas what I can do please? x

They likely have a nest somewhere or a lot of stuff to feed on if you've been seeing lots - so finding that will make the biggest difference.  Diatomaceous Earth is an easy help for dealing with them though, messy but effective - sprinkle around room perimeters, under rugs, in cracks in the floors.   Otherwise clean out storage areas of dust/hair, if you can get rid of what's attracting them you won't find them any more.  

Sorry, though, they're not fun.

We have these too, and I HATE them. I don't really have any advice for you, as I've been battling them for years with no luck. But I feel your pain. Nasty little buggers.

Honestly, I would get rid of the carpet and get the concrete stained.

Well I was curious about carpet beetles after reading your post as I had no knowledge of them so I googled about them and found this link which seems to have a lot of info, it may be useful for you?
