Oh no! I work in healthcare, and the flu/cold has been going around. I got a flu shot in October, but seems like I'm catching something. Mouth is watering, headache, runny nose! What should I do? Is this harmful to the baby? Im only 5 weeks along and freaking (!!!) out..
Cold/Flu while pregnant??
You'll be fine. You're bound to get at least one cold while you're pregnant... Just stay hydrated and be careful what meds you take if you choose to take them. I personally like the humidifier and some tea when I have a coldl.
I generally don't take anything other than the occasional tylenol while pregnant. I actually had the stomach flu already 2 weeks ago when I was 4 weeks pregnant...which is way better than having it at 8 months like I did with my youngest son.
I just got over a 24 hour fever yesterday. I was super freaked out since I've never had a fever during pregnancy before. I took a couple of showers to keep my head cool, drank ginger tea with lemon and honey, took vit C, zinc, and some probiotics and half a dose of tylenol as needed.
Rest when you can and try not to overexert yourself :)
