Crunchy mom moving back to St. Charles County. Hopefully I'm not the only crunchy mom there...???

Thread Starter

I lived in St. Charles County from 1989-2000. I moved away, met my best friend (now husband), got married & had a baby.

Now we're moving back to St. Charles County to be closer to family. I'm REALLY hoping I can find other crunchy moms in St. Charles or at least nearby. Please tell me they exist there!  thumbsup.gif   Maybe through LLL?

I had a homebirth in Chicago with my first baby & I'd really like to homebirth again so I'm hoping St. Louis supports homebirth the way Chicago does.

I don't know about St. Charles County itself, but I have a friend who is involved with LLL in St. Louis, I will see if I can direct her to you.

My wife and I are in St Charles and are due late this year.  I haven't had time to thoroughly research yet but have come across a few references to docs that might be open to selective vaccination.  We have chosen an OB but have not chosen a DO.  I'm uncertain about how the whole process works (this is our first) and am doing what I can to ensure we don't experience any of the horror stories I've heard about doctors / hospital staff ignoring parents' wishes in the final moments.  I, too, am looking for doctors that will respect my wishes regarding selective vaccination as well as other possible drugs given immediately after birth (like synthetic vitamin k3 injections vs. an alternative like natural k1/k2 oral drops, or none at all)

If you find someone, please share their info.  I am happy to do the same (doctors' info or general research).  And feel free to PM me about it.

Here are some of the more influential articles I have come across recently.

I think there's a fairly active LLL group and Friends of Missouri Midwives group in that area.  Here's a link to the St. Charles FoMM page:

Good luck!
