If you could change one thing about _____, what would it be?

The world?

Your house?

Your parenting?

Your life?

What would your best friends say is your best feature?

If a genie gave you three wishes what would you ask for?

Do you have any pet peeves?

Where would you go on a dream vacation?

Where is the best place you've been?

Is there a question you would like to add or remove?

I know, I'm really boring! redface.gif

Not boring!

You said you're generous- how do you express your generosity?  Gifts?  Service/time?  Money?

Do you plan to return to work?

How long have you been married?

Christina, I was OBSESSED with Nine Inch Nails all through high school.  I sewed the NIN logo into all my jeans (I'm so serious).

My questions for you!

-How did you and Brandon meet?

-What was your most embarrassing moment growing up (only if you want to share, duh!)?

-What have you done that makes you the most proud?

-What is your favorite quality about yourself?  About your husband?

-Do you have any recurring dreams at night?

What do you sew and knit?  What would your bigger dream yard contain?

(Also a (former) NIN fan!)

You may have already answered this, but how did you come up with the name Rhyko?

How are you dealing with (former) eating disorders and losing pregnancy weight?

I *love* the name Rhyko!  And you are so fortunate to have a creek in your yard.  I miss that.  I loved playing in a creek when I was a kid.

I love the name Rhyko too!  I don't think it's too "out there" at all- and my kiddos have pretty "normal" names by most standards.

Thanks for your honesty re: eating disorders.  So glad you're doing better!

I had resolved most of my eating disorder issues before I got pregnant, which I think helped a lot. About three years ago we changed our diet. We were eating vegan, but we were not 'good' vegans - we ate mostly pasta, rice, baked goods, and a lot of processed meat substitute. I gained 70 (!!!!) pounds in the 10 months we were vegan. I was devastated. I was moody, depressed, lethargic and suicidal. A had a night where DH and I were up all night because I told him I just seriously couldn't go on this way and I needed to end it. Twas not a good thing.

The next day we started eating meat again. We've been following a Nourishing Traditions/Primal type diet ever since. Within a week of changing our diet, I was happy again. And I lost some weight. If I eat enough good (saturated) fats and limit my carbs/sugars I'm a happy camper and I don't even think about food (in fact, I heated up my lunch about two hours ago and I just remembered it was there! Never would have happened before - I would have been standing right in front of the toaster over until it was done) all day! I "slip up" and allow myself treats just often enough that I'm not steadily losing weight to my ideal range, but I am 20 pounds lighter now than I was before I got pregnant! :)

I will add to that, though, that if I get a stomach flu or something (or when I had really bad morning sickness) where I'm puking, it does trigger me to keep it up. Sooo gross, I know... but there it is. I am happy to say I haven't purged in about two years. And I used to do it about 5-6 times a day on days I'd eat.

First of all, Rhyko is a BAD-ASS name.  I friggin' LOVE it.

Also... I have the same ED history that you do.  My family doesn't even know.  I haven't purged in about 18 months.  Thanks for your honesty... it helps me a lot to share, too, and you made that possible here.

Thanks for sharing Christina.  I've never been much of a puker, but I spent most of my teenage years starving myself (with my mom's encouragement).  I was vegetarian for about a decade and vegan for a couple years, and like you, I gained a lot of weight.  I started eating meat and cutting the carbs and I was amazed at how much better I felt, plus I lost weight.  I'm still *well* over what I am supposed to weigh, but I feel so much better than I have.  And I'm now married to a vegan!  (He thankfully tolerates my flesh preference :D)

Even now, the surest way for me to gain weight is to go on a diet!  So, I am just eating whatever I want to, and slowly slowly slowly losing the pregnancy weight.  I can't wait to start biking again!
