My due date is about a week after Easter, and I am a big holiday person. :) There was no way I was going to risk that DH be the Easter Bunny! So I've started preparing already. Just in case.
We do a plastic egg hunt with some candy, small toys, and numbered hints for a scavenger hunt that leads to their Easter Baskets. I've got most of the candy (not the dairy free chocolate yet). I got smart this year and instead of getting big bags of bulk candy, I got just a few (5) different kinds of conventional candy that they've never had. There'll be less candy in total, but lots more variety-- and hopefully no leftovers for DH and I to eat. :) I'm planning on getting a small star wars lego set for each boy (they are 3 and 5) and putting a few pieces in each egg, leaving the directions for the basket.
In the basket goes:
- a cute "bouquet" of tulip lollipops,
- their annual "Easter toothbrush",
- a small crayola activity or other little activity to take to church later that morning,
- the lego directions
- green rafia
- a bunch of small toy bugs and small farm animals for the two "sensory boxes" i'm putting together (one on bugs and flowers, one on farms)
I also saw died rice on Play At Home mom yesterday, and I'm thinking of adding some little baby food jars of those. They love messy stuff.
