Children's mysteries for 7 year old

My nephew (age 7) likes to read mysteries.  He's already read all the Hardy Boys books and the Boxcar children books.  Any suggestions for other books I can send him for his birthday?  

I would usually just ask his mom, but she doesn't speak English very well, and when I did ask my nephew if he could be more specific, he just said, "I don't know.  Mysteries!"   I think he wants something new, but obviously doesn't know what's out there to ask for.  My son only likes to read books about history, so I'm not familiar with children's mysteries.

This recent thread has a few suggestions, however it was for a 9 y.o., so some of the books may be a challenge for your nephew. The Encyclopaedia Brown or the Cam Jansen books are probably a good place to start.

The Mysterious Benedict Society books would make good readalouds, if there is someone in his home available to read them with him.
