Sorry I haven't been posting to the group much. I miss you ladies who aren't on FB!
Oh the crawling and cruising babies! River is pretty much non-stop moving all the time now, and I have slowly babyproofed the whole living room/kitchen. We don't really own much stuff anyway, so it wasn't too hard (shipping stuff to Hawaii is expensive, so we purged a ton when we left Seattle a few years ago). The hardest thing has been keeping the coffee table clear. It used to me by place to put random stuff, or put my bags down on when I come home, but now I have to keep it clean. And I try to sweep every day, since my two giant long haired cats don't get any mommy love or brushing these days. Also, I banned the only pair of black pants that River had, it was just too depressing to see how dirty they got in just 5 minutes of being on the floor. I gave him the bottom shelf of our bookshelf for his books, and the other shelves I just packed the books all in so tight that no one can take any books from it.
In the kitchen, I rotate a few bowls/muffin tins/measuring cups to the now-otherwise-empty kitchen cart for him to play with. We got those magnet locks for the other cabinets in the kitchen because he kept slamming his hands in them all the time. He is cruising all over with only 1 hand now, and can stand and walk while holding on to my pants/hand, so I expect he'll be walking soon. I can't believe it! Sometimes I look at him and he looks like a little toddler, but then I nurse him to sleep and he's my teeny tiny little baby again. :)
