Engineering mama, I think pretty much from month 7.5-8.5 I didn't see my MW at all b/c of births - it was just bum luck!

I think I'm getting better with the insomnia.  I've stopped needing and taking naps during the day, and also forcing myself to stay up just a little later, like 9:15 seems to help.  I know mine was partly because of work stress and I try to do what I can during the day and tell myself worrying/doing work at 3am is NOT the time for work.  I try to say that I've made some progress and that was all I could do that day, and the next day doesn't start until daylight.  I also have been putting earplugs in with DS' monitor under my pillow, seems to help a lot and prevent me from hearing all those little ambient noises.

Where is everyone? Out enjoying the weekend? The weather here in Houston is gorgeous...80 degrees and it's not hot and humid yet, absolutely manageable.

I found I have a closet full of nothing to wear ugh. Nothing fits me anymore and I'm not big enough for maternity wear. So babydoll dresses it is and shorts I guess. Also, I'm having trouble sleeping already. Seems like I can't get comfortable, no matter which way I roll. Sitting up feels best and it's scary to think that this might continue for another five months, oy vey.

Other than that, I'm doing good. Zumba is becoming more fun again. The past three classes I gave I didn't look at the clock every 10 seconds and actually enjoyed it. Also I don't feel nauseous anymore when I hear the word Zumba or see my Ipod LOL...Weird, the association you have with sickness and certain objects, smells etc.

That's it, I have to wake up the family bears (DD and DH, they could both hibernate if I let them) and head out, enjoy the sun a little more.

Today I had the most lovely experience!  You see, my small town in WY isn't really a hot spot for crunchyville ;)  I'm pretty much fine being an odd duck among friends... but I've known my chiropractor (my age or so) was somewhat crunchy as she was still nursing her two-year-old through at least part of this pregnancy she has now (due in June) and there were a few other clues... Today I took my girls over to her house and we hung out while the girls played and talked and.. HOORAY! She is studying to be a La Leche Leader (the nearest LLL to where I live is three hours away), she doesn't vax, won't circ her son, nurses until her babies wean, co-sleeps, etc, etc!  *swoon*  I'm fine not having people be exactly like me and such, but sometimes it's so nice to talk about some of these seemingly 'hot topic' items with somebody who's on your side.  So, so enjoyable.  I've never met anybody in real life like that!!  AND, even better, she lives just a few blocks away!  And there's a park in between our houses we can meet at in the summer to let kids play!!  Oh, and she's seeing the same midwife I am!  (and yeah, since homebirth attended by a midwife just became legal in WY last year, it's still not normalized at all.... so to know somebody in my town seeing a midwife is a big deal!).

Otherwise... my sleep has been 'off' the last few nights, but it's all my own dang fault ;)  One night I was reading "Sarah's Key" (I started it that night) and couldn't put it down, so I stayed up until 2 a.m. finishing it... then on Thursday night my mom had the older three girls spend the night at her house, so when dh got off work and it was just dd4 at home, he thought we could see the midnight showing of The Hunger Games (while dd4 nursed/slept with me), so we were there till about 2:30 a.m. watching the movie... then last night I went to bed late again... and I had to get up early this morning to get our co-op produce basket and eventually it all caught up to me and I napped this afternoon.  HARD!!!  So hard that I've been feeling like I'm in a fog since I woke up!  Blergh!

Oh.. and I'm 16 weeks today :)  So amazing to me!!!!

so glad you found a like minded friend! It is nice to be able to talk freely without feeling judged or having to constantly back up your choices. I have a small (growing) circle of AP friendly moms and I just adore them.

MadiMamacita -- It's *amazing*. I live in the small town I grew up in, so I still have a lot of friends that I grew up with here... and none of them really hold a lot of AP practices/thoughts in their hearts. The local hospital *gag* has like a 50% c/s rate... and nobody cares, of course... Most don't breastfeed because they don't think it really matters either way... and none even think enough to consider possibly *not* circing their sons (among everything else).  So... yeah!  I feel like it's awesome!

I probably shouldn't gush SOOOOO much... because *wowsers* she's even on MDC... in her own DDC (June)!  ;)

I can't stop eating today. I am STARVING.

Stuff: broke own and bought a pair of maternity skinny jeans. I just couldn't handle the hair-tie-on-the-pants thing anymore. Now I'm so comfortable! Also went to prenatal yoga yesterday and I have some seriously sore spots today. It was relaxing at the time, though! I also think I've been feeling movement all weekend, mostly in one area in the lower right side of my uterus. Maybe it's a spot not covered by one of the placentas? Feels like little pops, maybe they are kicks? It's not like the gas I typically have : P

i'm still not sure if i feel movement. my placenta is posterior so i guess it could be movement that i'm feeling but i haven't had the big "omg..it's the baby" moment yet smile.gif.i guess another week or so and i'll know for sure.

i have a closet full of mothing to wear. i've been wearing shorts and dresses but my shorts are getting too tight.

14+5 today.

I totally felt movement last night - baby was going spastic!  I was almost worried there was something wrong for a moment!  Full on baby kicks, could actually SEE them through my belly (well, just see my belly move, kwim?) and could feel through belly too!  Hubby and DS got to feel also!  DS's eyes got so big and excited when he felt it - it was so cute!  Anyway - it lasted for like 5 minutes and then boom - gone.  I've been feeling movement since around 11 weeks (I'm 14 weeks tomorrow) but nothing like this at all. Normally it's really light, really fleeting.  I've never experienced anything like this with any of my kids this early before!

I felt movement (for sure) this weekend too!  Before this I would feel something here or there that may have been movement, but this time it was for 5 plus minutes so I really KNEW that it was movement.  I am 16 weeks +4 today.  Not much else new!  It was so warm here last week and now it seems back to normal temps and I am cold!

I'm still not really feeling anything lol.gif both of my girls were so active by now!

Placenta is posterior, and I think babies usually face the placenta, so maybe that's why.  Baby was moving a ton on the ultrasound today!

and in case you didn't catch my other thread.. it's another girl orngbiggrin.gif

It's almost weird to me that we're at the stage that people are finding out but at the same time, this pregnancy seems to be moving SOOOO slowly!  I dunno why - just moving so slowly for me.
