I recommend the "Peter and the..." series by Barry and Pearson to a lot of kids that age.  Peter and the Starcatchers is first, I believe.

 

Rick Riordan just put out a new book in his Egyptian series...

 

If she liked The Hunger Games, The Maze Runner trilogy (James Dashner) could be good.  He also has a lesser known series called 13th Reality.

 

The Fallen series by Lauren Kate

 

If she likes vampire stuff, the Vladimir Tod series by Heather Brewer.  It is all done but she's started a spin-off, the Slayer series.
