Bedtime, 3 year old repeatedly asking for things after we leave the room - Page 2

Aother thing that helped a lot was having those fisher price aquariums that they make for babies - they play a little music and light up.  Gives the kids something to pay attention to that is interesting enough to hold their attention but not really interesting to keep them awake.  They use mp3 players now too, sometimes, but your little one is maybe a bit young for that.

One thing I would warn about starting a flashlight dependency, be prepared to buy A LOT of batteries. DD has had a flashlight for a long time now and I had to take it out of the bedtime equation. She would leave it on all night and it would go dead. Rechareable batteries would be a good investment for that. We had to switch to rechargeable for her travel sound machine that we use on a nightly basis (it was $5 on clearance) Another reason we took the flashlight out of the equation is because she would drop it all the time and cry for us to get it from behind her bed... Several times a night.... The 1 time token has been working pretty well now, guess I'll have to wait to see if it stands the test of time.

I like the idea of a set check in schedule. That will be what we do next if the token solution doesn't work out.
