Chicken Pox Again?

I know it's unusual or rare to get chickenpox again.  Has anyone else had experience with this?

DD had the pox at age 2.  It was a medium case.

Now at age 6, I think she has it again.

At first I thought they were spider bites.  She had 3 the first day.  Now she has about 14 spots.  They start out looking like a blister or pimple and then crust over.

I called my Dr. and he said she doesn't have chicken pox because you can't get them again.

I guess we'll know for sure if/when our 2 1/2 year old gets them in two weeks!

Thank you for any stories you can share!

You definitely can get them again. It's really not uncommon, particularly is the first case was quite mild.

Thank you, Tessie!  This is what I'd heard as well.  As it turns out, my daughter doesn't have chicken pox.  It's some "non-specific" virus that causes an itchy rash.
