Birthday Cake from brown rice flour -OR- spelt flour

I was looking for a vegan birthday cake recipe to be made with brown rice flour or spelt flour. I just purchased some spelt bread as well and it is very dense, so I am unsure if it will due for a cake recipe. Thank you kindly
