last time we brought dd, 5yo, with us to the hospital with mil as her support person and ds1 who was 17mo at the time stayed home with sil.

this time we'll be having a homebirth, so the kids will all be home with us. mil will be coming over to help with them. if it's nighttime, we'll wake dd and ds1 because they want to be part of the birth. ds2 will be 20mo, so we'll let him sleep. if it's daytime, i expect they'll all be in and out during labor and then dd and ds1 will be present for the actual birth. ds2 will probably wait to join us and snuggle after the baby is actually born.
