The ONE Thread March 25 - April 1 - Page 3

No ONE thread for this week??

My temp went up a couple tenths this morning (9dpo, same day I got a temp drop and AF last month), so I decided "what the heck," and tested.

I'm shaking...

BFP.

Anyone experience morning sickness before they were late for AF? I have googled it before, I am just interested in anecdotes from you lovely ladies. LOL.

(We are sort of in the not-trying-not-preventing category. If we don't get preggers this month we may stick with one... I am been dabbing with the idea of grad school and I don't feel like I will just DIE if I can't have another baby... Sigh. Come on universe, give me a sign.

Anyalily- good luck this month.  hopefully the universe will just decide for you!

Stegenrae- Congratulations!!!  Hooray for the first April BFP, hopefully the first of many.  That is so exciting.

CD- I agree with the rest, using non BC methods for prevention could help a lot on knowing your cycle and give you a jump start on getting it out of your system.

AFM- still waiting to O.  Got really frustrating news Friday, needed a couple days to process.  I had a repeat fasting blood glucose check and it came back even more elevated than the first.  My doctor is out of town for the week so I have to wait until next week to get in but according to the doctor who read the lab results my tests mean I have Type II diabetes.  :(  There is no history of diabetes and I really have no risk factors except being slightly overweight so I am honestly still in shock.  It was really just another thing we were ruling out, not something that was expected to be a problem!  I have an appointment with my new midwife on Wed and appt with my MD next Monday so hopefully between the two I will have a plan soon.  Feeling frustrated that we are probably out of luck for this month, as I will likely have Oed by the time we get things sorted out, and mourning the idea of a lifetime of carb watching (I am a passionate baker and lover of bread!) but I am really hopeful that we have figured things out and maybe next month will be our month.

FX for all of you in the TWW!

newtoTTC, I can't remember if you have PCOS or been tested? It can cause type2 diabetes in people who don't normally fit the profile. Carb watching isn't so bad (I do it to stave off symptoms of metabolic syndrome, a type2 precursor). But then again, I already can't eat most bread because I'm intolerant to gluten, dairy, and egg yolk. So at least my "punishment" is pain, rather than erratic blood sugar readings only. I hope everything gets straightened out and you get control of it soon. ((hugs)) And thanks for the congrats.

Congratulations, Steganrae!!!

NewtoTT, I'm so sorry to hear about your frustrating time. I hate when I have to wait around for my doctor to get back to me, though I'm sure they need the break.

Re: carb counting and baking, it can be managed. I'm actually grain free and do plenty of baking with almond and coconut flours. Not the same, I know, but still fun and tasty! I'll cross my fingers that you get some answers that help you figure things out.

Steganrae - YAY!!! Wonderful news! I do hope you stick around for a little while though because you always have interesting things to say and I appreciate your humor.

NewtoTTC - I'm sorry to hear about your new diagnosis of type 2 diabetes. Much grace to you as you process this.

AFM - So sorry about the different difficult situations with doctors and such. Why does it have to be so difficult to navigate these things?

I am 9 dpo today and having a very uneventful chart. No dips, just lines straight across - I'm hoping this ends up being a good thing. Can I be moved to 2WW? This was our last cycle trying for a while and we only BD'd on my actual ovulation day so I'm hoping that will be good enough.

I will be happily surprised if it works out this cycle and if it doesn't I'm going to just enjoy our state of life right now and go on lots of getaways, wine-tastings and hikes with hubby when we're back in the states this fall.

Hoping for more good news from everyone else soon!

Rae, yay! Yay!

I was feeling like I could be, for like a second but AF is here, so I'm out. I think we have to prevent until mid summer while we switch insurance, but I will still lurk.

To answer rae's question about grad school, I actually want to become a rabbi. I haven't said that aloud to anyone but my close family. I am not going to do it if I can't make it work with our family life, financially and time wise, but it is a good distraction while I wnder why we haven't conceived in 7 cycles, and if, maybe, we are meant to be a family of 3.

Ciao ladies! Keep the BFPs comin'!

Ya know, it's impossible to get pregnant when the men won't cooperate!

By the way, please move me to waiting to know. Thanks!

This is my second cycle in a row of not being able to line up donors during my fertile window. Sigh.

Sorry to hear that, Stevi. I am curious, have you tried frozen? I don't remember seeing you talk about it, and totally cool if you don't want to answer. Maybe an emergency stash? ;) Sometimes my DH won't cooperate, even though I LIVE with him. Sigh.

Hi, I was hoping to join in!  We have officially been trying since December, although two months got messed up with illnesses.  I am trying to focus on the positive, and remember that we've only had two "real" months of trying so far.

My cycles range from 27 to 35 days.  I had a pre-conception visit with my OB, and he recommended the OPK followed by progesterone test a week later.  I got my smiley face on 3/19 and blood test on 3/27 - the result was a 13.6.  To be honest, I'm still not completely clear on what that means.  The nurse I spoke with was.... not especially helpful in explaining, although she did say it showed a good ovulation.  Unfortunately, AF showed up last night....

Anyway, I'm glad to be part of the boards and am hoping to post more often!  Please add me to the "waiting to O" group!

Anyalily...   I'm not opposed to frozen sperm, I just cannot afford it. I'll have to start looking for new donors I guess. I am not happy about it as it means my risks go up for STDs. Sigh.

Welcome Scotia!

Stevi, I get it. That seems like a tough situation. I wonder if there is a service that will freeze and store sperm for you if you have your own donor... There should be! I wish you luck. :)

I had a session of EMDR yesterday (a therapeutic technique for clearing trauma that has really helped me deal with my injuries in delivery of DD). I have been thinking about a reproductive traumatic experience waaaay back when I was 19 that I thought was old history, and it turned out to be a big part of my current ambivalence about getting pregnant. It was very healing. I was totally exhausted afterward but today I woke up feeling refreshed, hopeful and joyful. It was a good step toward my readiness to do this all again. Sigh. I wish I had gotten into therapy years ago.

So now, we have to figure out if we need to wait for the insurance thing to wrap up. We want a less expensive policy but it doesn't have maternity benefits until July when the mandate kicks in and all policies will have maternity. We would just wait until July to switch, but my husband is underinsured at the moment which makes us nervous. If we do wait, it is the perfect amount of time for me to get to my goal weight and feel really strong. So, the decision is never really made, is it?

Love and light to you all! I hope the pagan egg goddess, or Easter bunny or Passover fairy, depending on what you believe, brings you fertility! Do it like bunnies, ladies!

Why no ONE thread for this week?  I guess any of us could have started one, lol.

I got 2 faint bfp last night!  This mornings were even fainter, and didn't show til around 7 minutes, but my FMU is weak, I'm realizing.

Not fully convinced yet, but I really do think I'm preg!

Love it! Crackin' me up!

Bellybaby: congrats!

Scotia: welcome!

Stevi: thinking good thoughts for you for a better situation next window

AFM: past the doing like bunnies part, onto the waiting... I'm not temping, but ballpark 7dpo. I used to think the wanting but waiting/preventing would drive me insane, but this wanting and waiting/hoping is pretty darn hard too. Guess I'll just pray to the egg goddess until I test on Monday. :-)

Anya, so glad for healing.

Bellybaby, i hope it's sticky as hell! Tentative congrats

Maia, :fx: When are you going to test?? edit: I'm a dork. Monday. You said that. Don't forget to update us!

Afm, despite a small temp drop in the previous 2 days, it went up even higher this morning. My test line was darker yet, and this is 13dpoa for me (not very late for some of you, but my average LP is just 9 days, so I think I'm so finally out of disbelief. (And move on to obsessively worrying )

Uh... sorry, TMI coming but I just had blood streaked EWCM and not only that but it took a good 6 wipes until I felt dry enough to pull up my panties, LOL! That's the most EWCM I have EVER had. DH BETTER get home at a decent time tonight (he's buying a new van for me after work today sooooooo hoping it doesn't take too long!) so we can BD cuz it looks like I'm having a GOOD one. So much for my relaxing this cycle, eh? lol.

That definitely sounds like the Big O to me!  Good luck with BDing tonight!

Rae- I hope yours is a sticky bean too!

( I dont want to admit how many tests I've taken in the last 24 hours. I'm officially crazy. )

Um, I was frustrated with the barely there faint lines so I ran out and grabbed some FR Digital and it said +yes.

Ok, I think I really am.

wheee!

and I'm only 10 dpo too but I've had 9-10 day LP so this is when I'd be due for AF or late.
