I was pulling out a bunch of purple thorny vines

i pulled out about 200 thorny purple vines that grew out of the ground like rows of trees, i now have the worst itchy rash, what kind of vine is this so i can investigate further?

Can you post any pictures of the vines?  I love this kind of  thing.  Sorry, nothing personal, I mean I love trying to identify plants!
