Thanks, SgLilith!

I didn't exercise all weekend, but I did ride my bike quite a bit yesterday (I don't consider that exercise because I love it so much).

Tomorrow I start a raw vegan cleanse for 21 days.....no caffeine, no alcohol, I'm gonna die.   :)   Not really, just really hope I have the discipline!

Can I join you?  I could really use the support and accountability.

So, I just signed up for a 5K run for June 3rd as a means to push/motivate me to start back on a running routine.  I haven't ran since my last 1/2 marathon, which was 2 years ago.  blush.gif  I have been doing a lot of hiking and incline walking on the treadmill for the past few months, although very inconsistently.

My weekly workout goals:

1.  Do a revised Couch to 5K walk/run combo, at least 3-4 days a week, to build endurance.

2.  Go to a Body Pump class, which is an all-body resistance workout offered at my gym, 1-2 times a week.

Holland, welcome!  Knowing that a race is coming up can be really motivating.   I am purposefully *not* signing up for races now because it contributed to my total anxiety body freakout/breakdown last November.  I am impressed with your half-marathon-- wow!

Monday

no workout, low cal day

got some really cute new clothes in my new size at a kick-ass thrift store-- yay!

realized that I have lost about 40 pounds since splitting from ex a year ago-- holy cow

Tuesday

2.5 mi jog, low  mod cal day

Tuesday:

2.75 miles (40 minutes) on the treadmill with a 0.5 incline with 3 min walk/3 min run intervals.

It felt great - not easy, but not too hard either.  It's strange, but it is like my body is remembering the rhythm of how to work efficiently while running.  Kinda cool!

What was it about the race that made you feel so anxious?

I did the half marathon as a fundraiser for the Big Brothers/Big Sisters organization and my running partner was the CEO of the chapter.  Without her, I don't know if I would have had the discipline for the training to do it.  It was A LOT of training and we motivated each other significantly.

Thanks, Holland, I knew I had shrunk but not by that much.  Funny how denial works.  What happened with the anxiety is that I had started running to deal with the intense break-up feelings and to help my mood, then I found that I actually enjoyed it.  Once I started to work races in, I pushed myself much harder focusing on increasing distance/lowering time.  This was right at the same time that my body was crashing, probably due to adrenal fatigue.  Weird symptoms like palpitations, hair loss, dizziness.  Turns out that strenuous exercise involves stress hormones as well and I had to take a complete break for a couple months.  Since I started jogging again, I have kept my focus on enjoyment/feeling good and not pushing myself much.

I haven't worked out today or yesterday and ate some junk both days, so I am feeling yuck.

Lorena, how's the cleanse going?

Friday

Jogged 1.5 miles, low cal day

Realized that I have been PMSing-- now that makes sense!

Wednesday - nothing (had a date)

Thursday - nothing (had class)

Friday:  30 minutes, 3-min. walk/run intervals and walked on a 5% incline for 15 minutes afterwards.

Just started my period, so I was exhausted and bloated.  I really had to push myself through the entire workout.

Been super busy, but still sticking to my workouts!

No exercise this weekend, but eating low cal.  Ran, did weights, and abs yesterday.  I'm going to pull out the measuring tape......   I broke the 120s on Friday, so I'm feeling very encouraged.  My target weight is between 110-115, I'm at 128.  Gotta keep going!!

Hope your weekend is lovely, ladies!

Alright, Holland and Lorena!

Saturday

Ran 1 mile, hiked another 2-3, then walked 2 more on my date (in heels that I thought were comfy-- I totally have blisters now), low cal day.

Sunday

No workout (thanks to blisters as a fabulous excuse), low cal day

You mamas rock. I've been lazy!

Aside from two four hour tango sessions in the past two weeks, I haven't done anything.

Today I did 60 minutes of African-Latin aerobics at the YMCA. Going to sign up at a gym closer to home this week for when I'm out of a job and able to work out 4 days a week!

Sren, can you explain your "mod cal" days? I'm curious...

Monday:  none -- too busy running errands and going to a PTA meeting.

Tuesday:  I just walked for 30 minutes on the treadmill's hill program.  I was so flippin' tired and stressed, I'm just proud I did 30 minutes.

HAM, my mod cal days are defined by default-- they are just not low cal (1500 cal) days.  I ususally have some kind of splurge meal on those days where I don't worry about the calories (but not a total binge either).  My goal is to have a mod cal day about every third day or so and to have a good breakfast every day, plus exercise 3-4X/wk.  Should be running later today and will be back to update!

wow, you're disciplined on the calories front. I can't seem to do that, probably because I'm hypoglycemic and need to eat often. The only diet modification I've been able to stick to is having a 32 oz green smoothie every morning.
