Aside from anything else that may concern you, I'd wait. My 13 month old was later to walk than my other two boys but he managed and is really cruising now! He's been walking about a month. It sounds developmentally on track if she's trying. Just ask at her appointment if you're still worried.

Mine's not, either--sounds like they're in about the same place. She looks like she's trying to, sometimes, but mostly only gets as far as kneeling. If I give her my hands, she will scramble to her feet, but that's with me guiding her.FWIW, we did just have her evaluated for other mobility issues--no crawling, only intermittent rolling, and only very clumsily getting herself into sitting. Turns out she (just barely) qualifies for some visits from a physical therapist. We haven't seen one yet but one is supposed to call within the next couple of weeks. I asked if it was the kind of thing we could just wait out, and the woman who evaluated her said that at her level, it will probably only take two or three visits to get her caught up, but it doesn't hurt because the earlier you intervene the easier it is.
but all that was more about her difficulties crawling/sitting/rolling--basically, she has trouble understanding the transitions from one position to another. I don't think it's unusual at all for an 11-month-old to not be pulling up. It sounds like she's on the right track!
Quote:post #4 of 53/27/12 at 4:12pmIf she sits with good balance and can roll, I wouldn't worry too much. What other milestones has she hit lately? Frequently, kids will develop one area, and then another. If she's been working on fine motor skills, or babbling, or exploring textures she might just not be focusing on mobility.
For what it's worth, my son could walk (very well) before he could pull himself up. Kids really do have their own timetable.- Skippy918

Thanks for the reassurance. She rolls and army crawls and gets herself to/from sitting. I guess it's hard not to compare to my son who pulled up around 8/9 months. She's babbling and says mama and self-feeds really well.Return HomeBack to Forum: Life With a Babe- Not pulling to standing
