I had the Brest friend pillow and loved it. I was completely reliant on it for the first 8 weeks or so, and really think it helped with that floppy newborn stage. The one down side (at least as I was using it) is that it was hard for me to lean back and really relax. As I got more comfortable with nursing and the baby's head got stronger I gradually just stopped going through the trouble of using it. Still I'm really glad I had it and plan on pulling it out again this time. I'll be curious to see whether it feels just as helpful this time, or now that I've been nursing a baby and then toddler so long without it, it doesn't seem as necessary.
I think that's part of why I preferred the Boppy. It was so much easier to relax that way, and given that I slept sitting up while Cece nursed for the first few weeks of her life, that was totally necessary! And also, being that she is a small toddler, we still use it every night.
