Anyone else spending nights staring at the ceiling?  It seems like every night I wake up between 2 and 3 am, and then I'm wide awake for 2 hours.  I manage to fall back asleep for an hour or two before DD1 is up for the day.  I am dragging.  Any ideas to be able to get some sleep?

This happens to me sometimes, closer to morning. I wake up to use the bathroom, then feel nauseous and can't go back to sleep. I realized it's because no matter how late I eat protein the night before, I can't always make it through the night without getting hungry. For me, it really helps to eat a slice of bread or some crackers, which I put on my nightstand before I go to bed. I'm going to try a protein drink next. I did get this a bit when I was pg with DS, but this time it is really extreme. Don't know if this is your situation too, but it's worth a try!

Sending you hugs!!!!

I'm having the same thing happening to me. DS goes to bed around 8 and I'm lucky if I make it until 9!  Everynight around 2:30 I wake up.  Sometimes I'm too hot, sometimes too cold, sometimes DH is trying to snuggle and I just want my space It's not just one thing that is waking me up(which is driving me crazy!!!)  I don't have to go to the bathroom, I don't have nausea, and I'm not hungry, so I just lay in bed trying to go back to sleep. I'm normally up until around 4 and I drift into a awesome deep sleep right around when DH alarm goes off in the morning (which he snoozes at least 4 times every morning!!) GRRRR.  Then at 7:30 I'm up to start the day with DS.

I am lucky that DS is in school all day, so all I have to do is get up make his lunch, make sure he has clean clothes on, and send him out the front door.  If I'm dying to get back to sleep I just take off the robe and hop back in bed for a "nap".  I give all of you with little ones so much credit for being preg while taking care of your babies at home!!!  I'm sure I would survive, but I know it would be very tough...  WTG Everyone looking after littleones!!!!!

Here is hoping for some nights of sleep before little one gets here and then our worlds are turned upside down even more!!!

Oh yeah.  I don't get it every night but I do get it once or twice a week.  I usually get up out of bed for a little while and read or play on the computer for bit  and have a little snack.  I can get back to sleep in about an hour if I get up...if I lay there I toss and turn and don't sleep and end up waking up dh and then I keep us both up for hours trying to get comfortable and sleepy again.

This is me, exactly. I go to bed quite easily, sleep until 2 and then I am AWAKE. I've been going into the spare room to listen to a book on my ipod so I don't disturb DS and DH. I usually fall asleep around 5am just when I should be getting up. This morning I gave up and came downstairs to do some work. it's going to be a long, long day.

Yep. Me too between 2:30 and 3 but usually 3 AM on the dot.  At first it was just to cycle the fluids (pee and drink more water) but lately I've been HUNGRY!  which is amazing to me because I feel like I eat sooooo much during the day already.  This AM was the worst, I haven't gone back to bed! this is the first time that's happened.  I got up to eat a snack (almond butter on a banana) which metabolized within half an hour so I was up again and decided to stay up and get work done too.  So on the plus side, I'll have lots of time to do my more exciting fun projects during the day today while DS is awake with me, assuming I don't crash by midday.

I don't remember having insomnia like this in my last pregnancy...I don't mind getting up to take care of needs (bathroom, snacks, water..) but it's when I can't fall asleep because I'm thinking about how I'm going to reorganize that I think things should be going differently.  Has anyone tried any tricks like essential oils or tea or anything?

I tried eating a snack with some protein right before bed, and it might have helped a little.  I woke up 3 different times last night, but each time I was able to fall back to sleep pretty quickly.  I also slept better the one day I felt like working out last week, so maybe I'll try to drag my sleepy butt to the gym.  lol
