A few weeks ago DH was having a rough day. We were still terribly sick, but he was to the point of not eating. He still insisted that we go out and have breakfast like we had planned the day before. He put a smile on his face for DD and I and went out. There was a cute gift shop next to the restaurant that he had never been to, so when DD and I were finishing up our meal he headed over there. He had looked so miserable during breakfast and unable to even enjoy his coffee. But, when we got over to the gift shop he had the biggest smile on his face, and looked bright as sunshine. When I got over to him I saw that he was looking at baby bibs, and he lifted up these John Deere tractor bibs and with the sweetest whine to his voice said "Puh-leeese can we get these for the baby!" Of course I had to agree. He kept pulling them out of the bag all day and smiling so big. I knew he was still feeling awful, but those bibs just made his day. Especially the one with the tractor on it that says "Dirt makes me cuter." (Background: He's a landscaper. He's always dirty. He loves doing tractor work, and says it's relaxing to drive around a field all day. Plus, his name is Jon, so he's always loved John Deere stuff.)
Anybody else have any cute stories about getting something for baby? Or, is there just anything you've gotten so far that really makes you happy?
