I am trying to find to a safe cookware type since recently learning that nickel leaches from stainless steel. Cast-iron: it's useful but very heavy and hard to use when cooking liquids. What about corning Ware? Somewhere on this site somebody said it contains lead. Hope somebody's done research & can help me out! thanks

People have been cooking in terracotta/clay cookware for all of history. You just have to make sure you get one with a lead-free glaze. Not sure if clay is considered ceramic?

I use cast iron for skillets, a stoneware type muffin pan, and I have a set of 3 glass pots.  The glass is like pyrex, my husband had them when we married.  I love that you can clean them with anything and I do most of my liquid cooking in those.
