Normal fetal heartrate?

I know that is kind of a complicated question as there are a lot of variables...but basically since I UC I don't get to hear the baby's heartbeat on a regular basis. Now I know what text book says about some of it but I was wondering about your personal experiences.

Basically as I made a trip to the hospital last weekend due to severe pain, they of course hooked me up to the fetal doppler. For the 2-3 hrs that they had the doppler on me, the baby's heartbeat kept ranging from 128-150. To me that seemed like quite a jump back and forth. I think it typically hung out in the 140s but I am not positive. Now I was having contrax at least some of the time, so that could have been what caused the lowering....but I was just curious if anyone else had any other experience with this?


Oh and I am 34 weeks.

In late pregnancy 120-160 is normal, dipping in contractions, recovering quickly. Also faster when baby is awake and moving, slower when sleeping.
