I was relieved not to have to spend the $$ on another one and now I can just return that flimsy Medela wrap.

joy.gifSo happy it made it!

This is an interesting thread -- another of those things I never knew about!

Do you ladies think a Bella Band/Be Band would work, or is that too flimsy? I have a few sizes from ones I bought myself and hand-me-downs from friends. I know it wouldn't be adjustable or anything, but it seems like it would be a good length and would stay put.

Checking this morning's deal sites, thought any of you ladies still waiting for your littles might be interested in today's BabySteals:  http://babysteals.stealnetwork.com/  It specifically says recommended for pp use.  And they have up to XXL for half price.  Think I'm going to order one - it's the first one I've seen big enough to possibly fit me.

I'm a big girl and the Large tali fits me well. I really like it! I do think the lace up one would have been easier though now that I see the length is not as bad as I thought.

Wish I'd bothered to get a belly binder. I'm using a long strip of flannel that i had laying around from another sewing project I never finished (or started....) It's a hassle because it's not stretchy but it's a heck of a lot better than nothing. Even having something on is helping, though. I didn't need it at all with my second, but my back is hurting and my stomach hurts as things are adjusting and having something snug is a big help.

Im 10 days postpartum & I have been using the tali also. I like it too although when I first started using it I wasnt sure how tight to tie it. I would make it pretty tight and after walking around a bit & sitting, standing, it would losen and I would have to re-tie it. Now I mainly wear it in the evening and I wear one of those smaller pp velcro wraps during the day because it is easier when doing things around the house. Love the length of the tali though! I'll have to post a pic of me wearing it ~ I'm interested to see if I'm making it as tight as it should be/how I'm tying it compared to how you are sosu.

The support was fantastic to have especially the first 5 days after baby. Astria, do u have a moby? They aren't exactly stretchy but you can wrap them around yourself several times and make it pretty snug- you might like that better than the flannel. When I thought I wasn't going to get my wrap in time I was planning on using my moby.

I ended up criss crossing the ties for more support. I double knot but do it with one loop so I can release it easily.

How long is the tali? I have a sheet that I was thinking of cutting lengthwise and then stitching together to make it twice as long (too long?)....I've been wearing the super tight belly band I got from the hospital for keeping the monitors on during labor but it's not as tight now (day 4) and the support is sort of uneven.
I'm feeling so much soreness from things moving back to normal...ugh. Even 600mg advil every 6 hrs isn't helping. greensad.gif but the pressure from binding seems like it would...
Please!! Those of you using these things should totally take pictures so we can see what it looks like! smile.gif

Here I am in the tali 11 days post partum:

bengkung 11 days pp.jpg

It comes down low enough to cover my hips. Overall I really like it -- i'd love to see pics of other moms with their belly binders/wraps on & hear how they are working!
