Cipro while nursing?

Thread Starter

I am still nursing my 19 month old DS and I think I have had a UTI for over a week. They gave me Macrobid at Urgent Care without confirming an infection and I still feel lousy. Now my doc wants to do a culture but recommends Cipro. What I have read about it freaks me out, I hate antibiotics anyways. I have some D Mannose I picked up today, too soon to see if that is working or not. Thoughts on Cipro? Any better alternatives? Thanks!

I know that Bactrim (Septra) is used to treat UTIs in babies (a good friend's 3 month old had to have it) so that may be another option. Have you looked up Cipro in Hale's?

http://www.infantrisk.com/ would give great info too.

Hope you feel better soon!
