Do you wash cover between uses?

This may seem like a silly question, so bear with me here!

We have 5 thirsties duo wraps and 5 flip diaper covers that we use with GMD prefolds. If there's no poo on the cover, I normally just drape the cover over the pail to dry out and then reuse it again without wiping or washing. Is this a disgusting habit??? I wash the covers every other day and air dry. I normally just throw them in a mesh bag and wash with regular laundry since I read that washing them with the diapers can make them wear out easier. Am I making them wear out by not washing between uses?

How do y'all handle your covers after use?

I do not wash after each use.  Just air dry between changes.  I wash mine with the diapers.

Nope, just wash when need be (that may be because they: got poopy, got absolutely soaked, are getting stinky).

I just washed when pooped on. My dd poops a lot so not much of a chance for a cover to last several days. I also went for PUL covers, motherease, so the covers don't absorb wetness.

Also wash with regular clothes and air dry. I have snap covers so no worry about snagging Velcro.
