dreams

I had a wonderful dream about my little girl last night!  It is the first time I have dreamed about her.  She was very happy and calming; everything went as planned, and I woke up feeling so peaceful, but not wanting to let the dream go.

Have any of you had dreams about your babies?  or any other crazy bizaroo pregnant dreams to share?

lots, at all sorts of ages. It's been weird, to say the least. Goes back and forth between being a boy and a girl too (since I won't know until birth)

This pregnancy has been loaded with strange dreams, but not many about having a baby or the baby.

Except I just woke up from a strange one. In this dream the baby was a girl and I had her way too early. They decided to cut me open and stick her back in so she could develop more. Well, the stitches weren't holding well and she ended up coming out completely alert (and clean.... ROTFLMAO.gif) and so I kept sneaking her out of my stomach and breastfeeding her and then I'd open the "flap" cut in my stomach and stick her back in.  I kept trying to convince them that she seemed big and healthy enough to finally be out, but they weren't convinced. Somehow this dream was not disgusting AT ALL. No blood or guts and somehow no pain. It was just weird... And I remember going to a gas station and getting a slushie.

I'm having a boy though and I have yet to have a dream about a boy. In my dreams it's always a girl. I'm just assuming this is because I already have a girl and it's familiar to me.

wow thats hilarious!!  I had weird vivid dreams before I got pregnant, so its not new to me, but i find other women's dreams completely hilarious and awesome.

i had the most vivid dreams in my first trimester! sex dreams! every night! they were very detailed it was crazy, and i never remember my dreams normally. the funny thing is that we were having sex, so its not like it was because of a lack of it or anything. now when our sex life has tapered off slightly (well maybe more then slightly), i'm not having any dreams at all!

I had a dream last night that I had twin boys in my uterus and I was able to pull them out to hug them and even dress them, and then put them in ideal positioning for birth and then place them back in my womb. They were so sweet and I was just so in love with them. They were so tiny. I kept putting them head down, ready to be born but they kept wiggling out of the position.
In real life my baby was very active all night, so maybe I was just dreaming about that - and it was so active it felt like more than one baby hehe. But according to the ultrasound there's just one in there. :)

Nice to see I'm not the only one with crazy prego dreams!

I keep having dreams that I forget to feed the baby for three days.  I'm pretty sure the three days comes from reading about milk coming in in about three days?  Dh keep reassuring me that the baby wont let us forget to feed it.

Last night I had a dream that even though I was pregnant we were also adopting?  So when the adopted baby came it was about six months old, and turns out she came with an older sister who was about two.  So in my dream I went from no kids to three in a day!   That was a bit shocking! lol.gif

In my dreams that baby is always a girl.  I think I've had one boy dream this whole pregnancy.

You know what's interesting to me? Almost every pregnant woman I have talked to has had a dream at some point about the baby coming out early and her doing something to/with it and then putting it back in the belly. I wonder what that's all about? I had a few of those in the first trimester. Lately I sleep so hard that I don't remember many dreams. I think it's because I've actually been sleeping through the night more often. I know that's about to end as I head into the third trimester and those middle of the night pee breaks start getting more frequent.

I had *never* had one of those dreams before, so I was surprised a few months ago when folks were saying that these are very common. Then I had one the other night! It was v cute :)

I have never had one of those... I've heard of people having dreams that they birth all kinds of weird stuff, like cupcakes.  My sister dreamed she birthed triplet alien boys and she said they were terrifying looking, but in her dream, she just wanted to hold them and go "my babies!!"

I've never had dreams about taking the baby out and then putting them back in my uterus, but my favorite pregnancy dream I had was before I even realized I was pregnant. In my dream I came home from work to get some lunch and went to the bathroom, where I realized I was in labor. I reached down and grabbed the baby, looked at her happily then walked out, handed her to my husband and told him we finally had a girl (we have three boys) and that I had to get back to work. Haha. Kind of relates to another thread theme we have going here, doesn't it? Now that I think about it, from what I remember all of my pregnancies have been correct about the gender, all 4 times.

I haven't had a lot of dreams specifically about the baby this time around, but last night I did dream that I was an International super spy and my oldest son was an undercover villain who was trying to kill me. It was all very 60's James Bond. Kinda fun. I love the crazy pregnancy dreams!

It seems like there are a few common pregnancy dream themes.  I've had a few where they baby was tiny, I think that's common.  My mom and sister and I have all had dreams where you lose the baby, or can't find it.  I've also birthed several dream puppies and dream kittens (and I full grown cat) instead of baby.  Most of my dreams are around breastfeeding somehow. so I think mine I mostly rooted in my fears/anxieties.

I had a dream the other night and my husband and I flew to the moon with Jerry Seinfeild.  We met a race of people there, that at first seemed like part of a hippie commune, but then as time went on, we found out they did weird sacrifical things and worshipped a giant cat.

Over the weekend, I dreamt I had the baby (it was sometime near my due date). In the dream, the labor and delivery were not a big part and it was a successful VBAC. Baby was not interested in nursing at all which was very frustrating. I was thinking it's because the baby was so big it wasn't really hungry and then asked how much it weighed. My "dream baby" was 8lb 15oz. (Keep in mind that my two kids were 7lb1oz and 7lb each.) I wasn't really aware of the sex of the baby until the Managing Partner at my office appeared and asked to meet the new Sam (his name is Sam and his birthday is in July). So that makes me think the baby in the dream was a boy.

During my last pregnancy, I only had one dream where the sex of the baby was revealed and it was accurate so I'm curious if this will be correct, too. During my first pregnancy, I had two dreams of baby's sex and in each dream it was different.

I had a dream last night that the baby was about 6 years old and we were outside the house where my grandparents lived when I was young. She was riding her bike and I suddenly realized that there was some kind of evil spirit/entity in the house and that it was looking for someone's body to inhabit. I realized it was coming after my daughter and was yelling at her to ride away, ride faster. The spirit came outside and I suddenly could see what it was seeing and saw that it was going to inhabit my body so that it could use me to hurt my daughter. I woke up in a deep panic, my breasts super sore and aching. As my husband pointed out, they were probably trying to let down with nothing to let down.

I've had bad dreams about the baby with each if my pregnancies, but this was the first with this one. Previous dreams have included things like Rosemary's baby type scenarios and I've also had dreams about giving birth to litters of kittens.

My husband and I have been watching episodes of Bones every night on Netflix. I am loving the show, but thinking that watching it so close to bed time is just a BAD idea. My dreams are so wacky now, and if i wake up in the middle of the night I cant fall back to sleep. This is the time I start drinking skullcap tea nightly...cures the crazy dream/pregnancy insomnia

I love Bones. Did you see her birth episode? I thought Bones' childbirth was much more in character than Angela's.
