Hi, I'm Kristin. My husband and I are both very gainfully employed. We make decent money.

But we need a new roof.

Like yesterday.

I'm not sure I'm ready to go no-spend just yet. But I am looking for frugal ideas. I'm subscribing but I'm not sure how much I'll post. But I didn't want to just be a hidden observer. That seemed a strange to me. So anyhow, hello.

Go through the kids books and leave them with only age appropriate stuff

organise the under bed boxes, so they arent spilling clothes all over the floor!!!!!

get rid of all the old sporting goods, hopefully by selling it to Play it again sports.

revising this one a little bit....make a monthly dinner menu, pasta 3 nights a week is getting to be a bit too much!!!

I have made a weekly menu and I have my shopping list ready to go when I get out of work tomorrow.

Our 2 dogs got into a fight with each other and our littlest dog was injured.Cost us $350 for the emergency vet to staple her up. Another $72 on her spaying next week and maybe more for a script when her staples are removed in 10 days. Sigh. I fell off the wagon.Have ate out to much lately,haven't kept track at all.

(I know I am coming into this challenge at the tail end of it, but I plan to do a "NO SPEND SUMMER", so I thought I may as well start now.)

a. Who you are I'm Kathirynne, WOHM mumma to 4 marvelous children, ages 19, 18, 15 and 11.

b. Where you are going (your financial goals) I want to redo my children's bedrooms this summer.  The eldest is in college, and the second eldest will be starting in the fall.  I want to revamp the sleeping arrangements we currently have, and decorate/organize the 3 "kids" bedrooms so that the younger two will be happy with their rooms until they graduate and move out, and the college boys will have a place to sleep when they come home on breaks, but their room can be used for other things when they are at school.

c. How you plan to get there I have created a budget for the summer that is based on $200 less income per month than I actually make.  I will use the "hidden" funds to finance my project.  In order to make this work, though, I need to stick religiously to my budget, which means doing things like only shopping once a month, cooking exclusively from scratch, growing vegetables in my garden, bringing a lunch from home to eat at my desk and getting to work at 8:45, rather than 9:15, so I'm getting paid a little more every day.

Ahhh Pay Day.  I remember this day used to be exciting, fraught with tension and mystery.  Now it is boring!  All the numbers are updated, bills are paid and money is set aside for gas and groceries.    And now I wait 2 weeks till next pay day...
