Losing a pet goes well beyond whiney, I'm sure. So sorry to hear that, I'd be devastated! Also sending along some virtual hugs.

Thanks.  I just needed to tell someone else, and no one IRL is an option right now.  Dh found her, and buried her.  We are dreading telling the kids in the morning.

Thanks, again.

Well, the kids took it very well.  They are outside loving on the young pup now.  I'm glad we got him a year or so ago.  I think it will ease the transition.  I'm trying to just stay busy and not think about it all over much.  I think that she has been starting to hurt quite a bit lately, and has seemed a little off for a while.  So, I am thankful that it seemed to be peaceful, and she didn't have to suffer, and we didn't have to make a hard decision in the months coming.  But, sigh...she was our first dog.

Sorry Just1. Losing a pet is so hard. I had to put my cat of 8 years down once and it was the worst thing. My current cat is 11 years (he's outside) and I have been afraid for a while now it will 'soon be time'.

Thankfully your doggy went peacefully and he had a wonderful loving family for 11 years. That is so much more than many animals have ((hugs))
