We are putting TTC on hold for 1 year and I have decided to have a Mirena placed, so I don't have to worry about BC. I love CTA, but emotionally I just can't do it right now. I really need time of from charting so that I can focus on some other areas of my life that I want to change. Thank you so much for all of your support. You are a great bunch of ladies!

So sorry for all you have been through :(  I wish you the best as you heal. It sounds like having the Mirena in will help you to refocus your energies in a positive direction.

Do you have an online chart we could look at? Sometimes your temps can stay a little high during your period and will drop more as your body prepares to ovulate.

Ladies, just wanted to let you know I had to change my username :)

Sorry for any confusion!

I'm checking in for the month. I'm on cd 18 with lots of eggwhite cm.

I had an appointment with a nurse practitioner at my university's women's clinic on Thursday, I mentioned that I've started having bleeding after intercourse, and she said that could be a sign of an STD infection or cervical cancer and that they will probably schedule a colposcopy once they get my test results back. I've been bad and haven't had a pelvic exam and pap smear since 2008 so now I'm worrying that I might have  cancer. Chatting with a friend about it didn't help as she responding by telling me about how her boyfriend's aunt died a slow and painful death from cervical cancer. I'm trying to tell myself that there's no point in getting stressed out before I even know what I'm dealing with, but it isn't working so well today.

Hugs physics girl! That is the worst. Try to hang in there. Keep us posted.
I don't have an online chart but tomorrow I can input from my lady comp what the temps are. I want to say for the past 14 or so days. They've been high 96 and 97 whereas before they are usually mid 96.
Any other weird reasons for this?

Thanks for the hug, Organicviolin. My pap smear was normal, and I tested negative for chlamydia and gonorrhea (would have been really surprised if either of those had been positive). I'm scheduled for a pelvic ultrasound on Monday.

Glad you're getting all checked out physicsgirl. Hopefully they won't find anything bizarre.

How much does having a yeast infection affect the mucus sign?  As if charting postpartum wasn't hard enough....  Hope everyone else is getting stuff figured out well!

When I've had a yeast infection, it dramatically affects my mucus.

Having 2 kids needing my attention has definitely decreased my computer time, so I haven't had as much time to read, much less time to type.  Mt_gooseberry, yeast can do quite a number on your CM.  I wouldn't trust anything except temp while having a yeast infection.

Today I had both transabdominal and transvaginal ultrasounds. Three minutes into the exam the ultrasound the tech went to get an MD. They didn't say much, but they did tell me that there's something on my left ovary and it's pushing things out of their normal position. The doctor is going to do a more thorough review of the images and then meet with me on Wednesday afternoon.

Yuck, physicsgirl. I hope they figure out things for you really soon.

AFM, CD16 and unless I have a lot more CM tonight, yesterday was my peak day. Which is very very good, because that means that AF should visit the week BEFORE my wedding and not the day of!

Physicsgirl--hope things turn out all benign.

I'm so frustrated!  I can't get rid of this yeast.  I've tried diets, probiotics, essential oils (taken internally), miconazole (Monistat), and fluconazole (forget the brand name but it's oral).  Nothing is working.  I had some success with the essential oils combined with probiotics, but it was too expensive to continue treatment.

The problem is that I'm postpartum and haven't started cycling.  Since taking your temp can't tell you when you're GOING TO ovulate, only that you HAVE ovulated, I don't know what to do if I can't rely on my mucus sign.  My Creighton instructor doesn't really seem to know what to do in this case.  DH doesn't tolerate abstinence well, but what else can we do?  I'm nursing quite a bit still, but I'm too afraid to just trust that, since that's how I got pregnant this last time.  I don't know what to doooooo!

(Sorry for the whiny tone...It happens when you're frustrated!)

mt gooseberry, I swear up and down by Femdophilus. it has to be refrigerated and I do use it vaginally rather than orally but I think it's amazing stuff. It's expensive, yes, but worth every single penny, IMO. I struggled with a vicious cycle of BV, then yeast, then BV, then yeast, until I found the femdophilus. It has completely saved me.

good luck. that's such an unpleasant situation. unfortunately, you really should abstain until you are healed up. your hubby probably has a minor yeast infection as well and you are just reinfecting every time you have sex. :(

Physicsgirl, I hope everything turns out to be alright.  Mt_gooseberry, there are some great food-based probiotics that are much cheaper and effective.  Do you know someone who can give you kefir grains or a Kombucha mother or do you have a freecycle in your town that you can ask?  Can you take apple cider vinegar or eat Bubbies brand pickles or saurkraut (They are probiotic, but most pickles/saurkraut are not) or ferment your own vegetables cheaply?

i love kefir and kombucha for probiotics too. but i usually end up taking probiotics as a pill. i have gone through the period where i always had an infection pp. mine was bv though. i had to cut out all grains and sugars and do probiotics. i even needed 3 rounds of abx. the baby before that was yeast infection. i surprisingly didnt get thrush, thank goodness. you have to starve out the yeast. diet. and also topical stuff.

Hi, everyone. I can go ahead and start a thread for May, but I don't know how much I'll be around to update it in coming weeks. If someone else would like to take it over for now, that would be fine. It's ok with me either way.

I'll be having surgery sometime in the next few weeks to remove my left ovary and the grapefruit-sized mass that is growing on it. Statistically, it is not likely that it is malignant, but it's impossible to know for sure at this point. Plus, my endometrium is abnormally thick so they want to biopsy that.

^^^Eeek! I hope the surgery goes/went well.

I was trying to chart post-partum some months ago but quit because nothing would happen. I've gotten that first PPAF now and am on CD8 of my first cycle... but it looks like this thread is gone? Or did I miss the new thread?

you have to look for the may thread.

i just looked for it. i couldnt find it. sorry.

I'll start a new one if someone tells me how....

I hope physicsmom is doing OK!
