Stinging/Burining pain in right breast

Thread Starter

I am nursing a 21 month old two times a day (just recently down from 8 or 9 times) and have had all sorts of hormonal "symptoms" but just yesterday I started to have a burning or stinging pain just in my right breast. It doesn't have anything to do with DS nursing and has been coming and going all day. I've read online that people say this is thrush..although DS and I had thrush right after he was born and it's nothing like that. My nipple and skin all look normal. It hurts...any ideas as to what it might be?

Also the gland on the same side in my neck feels a bit tender, like I'm coming down with something. I chalked it up to the high pollen count....possibly related?

As a sidenote DH and I are TTC #2...so I guess it's possible that I could be pregnant but I think it's unlikely

Could be a plugged duct.

along with the plugged duct, it could be a milk blister getting ready to form (or a very tiny one) if the pain is more localized towards the nipple
