Ash, Avery is the same way.  I think it might be a combo of allergies and teething.

DD1 is rarely sick. She gets a runny nose/cough semi-frequently, but nothing too bothersome. She has had the stomach flu once a year since she was born, only really bad one time. She had strep throat last fall just before Greta was born and that was the first time she'd been on an antibiotic. She runs a fever for seemingly no reason every now and then.

Greta has had a stuffy nose on and off since birth, but it doesn't seem to bother her much and I rarely have to suck it out, she just deals with it. She got that ear infection last weekend. That's the youngest I've had a baby that sick before and she was still a happy-go-lucky girl most of the time. And she loooooves her medicine. Of course it's flavored, so it tastes extra yummy to her. When she sees it coming, she grabs for my hand and pulls it to her mouth. She'll be sad when we're done with it after Thursday!

I guess I am really lucky but R hasn't been sick once! DH and I have both had colds, but Rhyko never got them. He was a bit snarfley as a little baby, but that was due to the reflux.

Well, it looks like Coralie is getting her first sickness too.  It seems like she's getting the same awful cough that Olivine has.  So far it's just the tiny baby version, I seriously hope it doesn't develop into a severe case.  Sigh, to get her antibiotics or not?  Olivine is taking (her first ever) antibiotics for this cough as it just keeps going and going.  Blah.

Thank you, Sara! I can't wait to try making some wrap style carriers from sheets. thumb.gif

Abra, sorry Coralie is sick!

Enoch had sniffles once at two months and that's it so far.

I'm going to take Coralie in for antibiotics today.  I really want to catch it early before it turns into what Olivine has.  It's a gagging cough that ends in a gasp for air, watery eyes and a whimper.  My dh is out of town all week.  I'm really crazy tired and I have stuff that I have to do today.  Sigh.

Ugh, all this talk about sickness and today my 3 year old is running a fever. She passed out right at noon which is something she never does, so I know she doesn't feel good... And now Greta's nose is running. Just hoping they are over this by Easter.

Just got back from the dr.  The antibiotics aren't working for Olivine, so they ran a whooping cough test on Olivine and Coralie.  They will get whooping cough medicine if that test comes back positive.  So far no meds for Coralie and Cyan since they aren't very bad yet.  I'm off to get some really healthy food and oregano oil.

Abra, I'm sorry your girls are sick. When will you know if it's whooping cough or something else?

Our ped sent out notices that the raise in whooping cough locally is now "epidemic" and it is showing even in vaccinated populations.  Im not in Portland, but Seattle area.  Its really going around, 5 kids in my older kids' school have had it.  Let us know when you get the results.  Your poor babies :(

So sorry Abra!  You must be worried and it must be even worse since you're solo right now.  hug2.gif

Thanks everyone.  I'm not so sure that it's whooping cough, but it will be good to know.  The said that the test takes 2-8 days (usually 2) and they'll call when they know.  I'm going to keep giving the antibiotics to Olivine (yuck) and hope that the Coralie doesn't progress any more.  I bought some oregano oil and elderberry cough drops, hopefully something will help.  My DH comes back on Friday, so we're almost there!   Thankfully I have a non-vac friendly pedi, so I didn't get hassled about the kids being unvacced.

Aw Abra, I hope they get better soon.  Julianna had a cough like that last year, it was pretty miserable for everyone.

Okay, this was not at all a pleasant surprise running across my kitchen floor last night.  I figured I'd seen the worst of bugs having lived in Arizona, but this was a surprise!

You had never seen those before Jaimee?!  you are so lucky!  They come out in the midwest in the spring.  THEY ARE SO GROSS!  They totally freak me out.  I kind of wish I hadn't seen that photo of it because, eww.  Now I have that creepy crawly feeling all over!

Nope, never seen one before!  Dh and I were shocked.  I mean, in Arizona there were scorpions and cockroaches and at night on my way home from work sometimes I'd have to step around tarantulas.  In Texas we had fire ants and crickets.  In Maryland we had cave crickets:

But never centipedes!
