Happy April.

How's everyone doing?

I spent most of the morning waiting for Pork Chop to move.  He's usually really active in the morning but I didn't feel him at all until a little bit ago.  That's really disconcerting even though I know it's totally normal and usually means nothing.  Now at least I can relax for awhile.

i've been better...i had an almost-very-serious run in with a pedestrian on my way to work this morning...like i almost ran someone over. besides the obvious, this is SO freaking upsetting to me because i really pride myself on my driving: I always make full stop at stop signs (in a city of roll through drivers!), never gotten a ticket, always drive within the speed limit, normally always paying attention because i'm often a pedestrian myself!, etc etc. The woman was very startled (obviously) but said she was okay (I touched her with my mirror!!! that's how close) omg. i feel like such a jerk. not a great way to start the week. mecry.gif

in other news, we have our anatomy scan on thursday so looking forward to hearing that everything is progressing as it should. definitely been feeling some more punching/kicking, so that's reassuring.

hope everyone's else week is getting off to a better start!

Hi everyone! We had a great weekend. Spent yesterday at a Rugby tournament. Now that's a rough sport! We have our scan this friday at 2pm. Can't wait!

Waffler - So sorry your week got off to such a rattling start. I have to take a driving test this weekend and I'm dreading it! I haven't had a DL for a while since I lived in a great city and walked/biked everywhere for years. I'm a good driver but our new car is a manual and I just started practicing w my DH. I'm kind of freaking out about the whole thing, I keep having bad driver dreams! I just want to move back to the city! I hate that the U.S. is so car-centric!! Grrr.

Morning all!

Had a pretty good weekend.  The rain stopped for the first time in 6 days, so we were able to take a walk!  Gathered with some friends for a birthday party, and read the first couple of chapters in The Chronlicles of Narnia with the girls.  We already read The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, so we have to backtrack to the first book before continuing!  My husband got to feel the little one sqirming around in my belly finally!  It was thrilling for him!  Been feeling tons of movement which is always so resaauring.  We're at our halfway point this week, and our u/s is on the 17th.  Our entire family is dying to find out.  Hopefully this babe gives up the goods!

Good morning everyone! So happy it is April! Well, I still feel very little movement and apparently it is because I have an anterior placenta.

However last night little bean had the hiccups! I felt those!

So grateful the sun is shining today! I can finally hang diapers on the line!

DH got to feel the baby move today too!  I was asleep when the dog woke us up and I noticed that the baby was shifting around a lot.  I rolled onto my back and sort of sucked in and when I let go the baby popped me one.  So I did it again with DH's hand on my belly and he finally got to feel a little kick!  Too bad I had to squish the baby to make it happen, but The Fetus was not cooperating.  Every time it hears DH talk it goes quiet.  He's started calling himself the Baby Whisperer.  I told him to hope that keeps up when the dude/tte is actually born.

Otherwise, I have a regular appointment this week where I'll get to hear the heartbeat.

I'm trying to keep energy levels up, but I really don't want to workout.  Booooooo.  Hopefully I'll feel better after work (not likely) and be ready to go.

Sorry, this is the disjointed mental state post.  Lots of ideas rolling around and none are sticking.  Hope everyone has a great week!

Hello Ladies!  I can't believe April is already here, our last few 'calm' months to enjoy.....

Perhaps I'm getting used to the movements of my little one or the novelty has worn off (how could that be!) but it seems the last few days he hasn't been as active and then at some point I stop to check - and of course, he's still there poking around and fine (a little dose of chocolate works every time!)  It's interesting to wake up every morning and note my ever-evolving belly button, which seems to be my fixation of the week.....

LilyTiger - my DH's voice seems to shush the baby into quiet or shy mode as well!  I suggested he needs to stop talking like Darth Vader around the Boy, which might have something to do with it....

Waffler - Ugh, how upsetting that must have been for you, a close-call like that would shake me up terribly as well!  LeAnn - good luck on your drivers test this weekend!  I've hardly driven our car since moving to Chicago 3 yrs ago (and telecommuting from home since then).... I grew up in the sticks and HATE city driving!!  I can handle the 'burbs, but get waaay too nervous and distracted when there are pedestrians everywhere.  The city we're in now is very spread out (land is obviously not scarce in this province) so you have to drive everywhere (and boooo, no subway!).... But thankfully most of the restaurants are concentrated in our immediate neighborhood!!

Good luck and enjoy all your upcoming scans everyone!!!

I'm going crazy trying to figure out if I'm feeling the baby move or if I'm imagining it!  It's been 2 weeks since the flutters that I felt confident about.  Since then I periodically think I feel it, but can't tell if it's real.  I'm looking forward to having some more consistent movement so I can stop needlessly freaking out.

Im 22.. 23w.. 24w? now pennywhistle (I dont know what I can't keep track- this is bad) and its been only the last 2 weeks I felt the movement really much at all.. and now its ALL the time.. so I wouldnt worry.. a lot of it has to do with positioning

What a scary morning Waffler. Glad everything is okay!

My husband also got to feel some kicks for the first time this weekend, and actually so did I! Before that all I had been feeling is some fluttery type stuff.  Very exciting, but they are still quite sporatic.  Otherwise we had a pretty low key weekend, with one kids birthday party and one adult birthday party which were both fun.  And we took a nice walk downtown and I bought a few new maternity clothes for the first time this pregnancy. The one big negative is that I hurt my back pretty bad. It's a chronic problem but has been really good for the past few years, so I'm really hoping it gets better soon.  It's especially frustrating because I can't really lift up my daughter without a lot of pain.

Our anatomy scan is on Thursday! I'm so excited. I'm really ready to know if this little peanut is a boy or a girl, so I hope we get some cooperation :)

I went to prenatal yoga this morning!  This is a huge thing for me b/c I knew it would be a small class and usually I only go to big classes and hide in the back.  I was the smallest there since the other two women were 28 weeks so I felt a bit silly, but it was so nice.  I get home and realise my littlest is sick so then I felt awful for dragging her out with a fever.  I thought she was just warm from the massive tantrum she had before we left.

Wow! A lot of scans coming up! Ours is tomorrow morning and we are really excited to see this babe and hopefully learn the sex.

Waffler, that sounds terrible! I would have been shaken up over that, too. Thank goodness it wasn't worse.

And yay for everyone feeling movement, too! This little one seems to LOVE cheese, it dances all around when I eat it, lol. DW has been feeling kicks for over a week now, and she can't get enough of it.

Sheaffer, your weekend sounds awesome. smile.gif

pennywhistle, I still go through the "is that really the baby?" moment a lot, even when I'm sure it is, i start to doubt myself again until I feel something really certain (like a kick in the cervix, oooouch).

Speaking of, is it normal for the baby to kick the cervix and for it to be such a sharp, sharp pain? It sucks, but I think that's what it must be. When i change positions and try to encourage the baby to move, it stops.

Thanks again for everyone's feedback on the cramps. I actually think they might've been intestinal cramps compounded by a wiggly baby. I am feeling better now.

I don't get cervix punches until later in pregnancy, but that's exactly what they feel like to me.

Is anyone else still having RL pain?  Mine was so bad last night I could barely roll over in bed and I was close to tears.

thanks everyone.

honey, i feel like i just started having some serious RL pain...at least that's what it seems like. also, i started going to prenatal yoga when i first found out i was pregnant (like literally 6 weeks). i felt like such a poser! and i'm still the "youngest" pregnancy in my class....waiting, waiting for someone due after me to show up :)

leann, good luck with your DL test! i wish i didn't have to drive as much as i do, given that we live in a city with somewhat decent PT. i ended up driving a decent amount for work.

good luck to everyone with their scans!!!

DH felt the baby for the first time on Saturday.  I've been feeling her move/kick daily for 2-3 weeks which is reassuring.  I felt bad that he couldn't feel her, too, so I'm glad he finally did!

I've already set up another ultrasound for...Friday, the 13th.  Should I be scared??? lol.  We'll be doing heart scans every two weeks for awhile.  Is it weird that I want to ask the tech if she can check the gender again?  I mean, it's only because I didn't get a "good look" during the ultrasound on Friday.  She was rolled up in a ball practically.  I'm sort of jealous of all the moms with immodest babies.

I have my first prenatal yoga class tomorrow.  I'm really hoping I like it because I'm signed up for six weekly classes.

We spent the morning/early afternoon in the city.  No rain today!  We got to enjoy the waterfront and a fantastic Indian lunch buffet.  Rain tomorrow though.  I guess, that's what you get for living in the PNW.  (I actually don't mind the rain.  If I hated it, how could I stand to live here?)

i've been feeling occasional cervix kicks and sometimes kicks to a specific spot that makes me feel like i'm starting to pee!

and i had some bad hip/RL pain/cramps on friday after a walk to/from ikea (less than a mile away). and i moved to a different floor at work and my new (well, actually old and really grody) chair makes my back hurt soooo much and i'm not sure how to make it more comfortable. i bought a prenatal yoga dvd on amazon that should get here in the next couple days and i'm hoping it will help.

hope all of this week's scans go well!

I hope the week improves for you, waffler, so sorry you had to go through that. I currently live in one of the worst cities with unsafe and aggressive drivers; it's worse than when I lived in NYC and had a car for the final few months.

Ninetales, is there a point at which movement becomes more predictable?

So exciting about the upcoming scans this week or next, LeannWaffler, Sheafer, Rebecca, and DesertSunsets, I hope they go really well. And Keuriweo, Friday the 13th is our 11th wedding anniversary, so it's definitely a good day!! We're thinking about a nice meal to celebrate, and I was going to suggest Indian.

Dovemama, wow, hiccups. I have felt random movements and then a few bumps in a row, but it hadn't occurred to me to think about hiccups. I can't wait.

LilyTiger, I'm sure the little one is well cushioned in there.

That is funny about the voice. I haven't noticed much reaction to voices yet, except for the loud modern opera he was banging around to. Dh gets close and whispers, but I told him he should try to make much more noise.

Nothing that exciting here. I feel as though my belly is growing a lot lately. I will have to look over my weekly photos and maybe post something. Work is going to be pretty intense until my due date, but I am feeling a but worried about fatigue. I used to be able to stay awake and work, but now I give in to the sleep so easily. It probably helps that I am still completely off caffeine.

Have a great week, ladies.

Sorry your littlest is sick, Honey, I hope she feels better soon.  Also, I looked up some prenatal yoga classes for when I move next week, I'm excited to start them.

How exciting that people's partners are starting to be able to feel their LO's moving.  I'm hoping B will be able to by the time I get to NC this weekend.  My belly has really popped this last week, so I think he will be surprised to see me.

A friend of mine just dropped off a HUGE bag of maternity clothes for me.  They are so nice and they all look to be my size, I am so grateful, and glad I will most likely not have to buy any maternity clothes. I can't believe how many pieces there are too.  Wild.
