Weekly Chat April 2nd!!! - Page 5

thanks littlebirdy and feralfox, i'm waiting to hear from my midwives so hopefully i'll be able to stay with this practice, i like them so much!

eleuthia, as aimee mentioned, your uterus will clench up and get really firm. mine seem to vary in intensity a bit too. and sometimes i feel a wave-like motion, as the muscles start to clench up. not any pain, just tightening. once it starts (if it even does) happening to you, i think it'll be pretty obvious, at least it was for me.

I got some of this from my mom too, although it was when I told her we were having another girl.  She tried to be excited, but couldn't quite hide that pause and slight dissapointment in her voice. Oh, well. She herself says she loved having just two girls, so I'm I'm sure she'll get over it.

AFM, We are about 30 minutes into our experiment of having my daughter move out of her our bed and into a crib in her room--with her daddy sleeping next to her for now in a blow-up bed.  She was excited about it when she went to bed--and actually demanded to go immediately into the crib before she was even asleep and then fell asleep in the crib, which is unheard of for her, and nothing we were trying to do today.  But I'm not sure that excitement will last when she wakes up at 10 or so and realizes she's not coming into our bed like usual.  I really, really hope it goes okay.  But even if it does, it's sad to think of her not sleeping next to me, even though I do think it's the right thing for our family to at least try for a variety of reasons. Anyone who has made this transition of a child out of the family bed have any advice or insight to share?

Happy Passover and Happy Easter to anyone celebrating one or both this weekend!

That's what they feel like for me!!!

Yay! another fellow member of the tribe on this board! wheeeeee!!!! I'm seriously surviving on KFP chocolate milk and flourless chocolate cake. Yes I SHOULD be eating fruit, but i'm in such a FOUL mood right now. Family members yesterday really really rankled on me.

Yeah, I third it.  Just a tightening.  Not really painful.  They can come with some rhythm to them.  But usually drinking some water and changing your activity will stop them...ie, walking when you are sitting, or sitting when you are walking.

When we get to the finish line, you might find you are having prodromal labor.  It really confuses people because it's REAL labor, in essence.  It's doing some work.  But it doesnt continue and lead to a birth.  It's at that point women go to the hospital and end up induced for failure to progress. Well nu-uh.  Because they just need more time. I dont how I went off on that tangent.  LOL.

But to me, the 3 types of contractions go hand in hand because, really, they are all preparing your body to birth a baby.  they all serve a purpose.

I'm with you--seriously I'm not sure how keeping passover is turning into eating so much sweets this year--I blame the amazing Kosher for passover chocolate donuts my sister found, oh and the chocolate-mint covered matzah's my husband unearthed . . .   Sorry for the family troubles :( Hope things improve soon!
