Took a nap, now I'm nesting! Contractions have started, but they're not really regular or strong yet. But hey, I'm in early labor! ::happy dancing::

Thanks for the good luck everyone, but not much is happening yet :( Here's hoping I'm in labor soon.

Ohhhh! So exciting! I am thinking of you, sending labor thoughts your way!

Yay! Congrats! They ended up breaking my water with DD and it actually took a few tries because my sac was so tough. Who knows if she would have come out in the sac or not. I've been wondering if my water would break this time or not. I'll be sending good birthing vibes your way!

SFMB: I just wanted to send some happy advice/support your way.  Be patient and rest, and don't let worry about your water breaking stress you.  You can actually go quite a while (not the doctor prescribed 12 or 18 hours, or whatever it is) as long as you are taking precautions. I'm sure you know this, but I just wanted to assure you that if you don't go into labour right away, you are FINE!  I went 4+ days with DS1 after my water broke before labour began. Just keep things out of your vagina - fingers, penises, etc.  Shower, don't bathe, and keep an eye on your temperature.  Other than that, as long as you still feel lots of movement, are still "leaking" and feeling well, you are doing just fine.  Your body knows how to deliver baby safely, and will do what it needs to do.  I'm sending lots of happy labouring thoughts your way!  Good luck!

I agree with pp...the best thing you can do if nothing is going on is try to rest (I know it would be hard, I can imagine) rather than wear yourself out mentally and physically by the anticipation and analyzation of every little twinge in your body! Happy Birthing! Yay!

Thanks all. It's been 12 hours since my water broke, and things are going ok. Not much contractions going on, but we've done some nipple stim, walking, etc. My midwife is coming over in a bit to do a tummy check for position, and we'll see how it goes from there. She said it's normal for things to take 24 hours to get going, so I still totally have time left. I'm not worried.

Sorry it didn't just go really fast but like you said, you definitely have time!  Praying for some good contractions to start and a smooth progressive labor for you.

Wow! Good luck Ashley! Baby sometime tomorrow then! Yay! I hope you have a wonderful birth!

23 hours, not even in early labor. BAH!

For those of you on my fb, please don't allude to my water being broken. I don't need anyone calling me telling me to go to the hospital.

My midwife came by last night to check position, and everything seems fine. We're just waiting.

That must be torture! I hope labor starts soon and everything goes smoothly and quickly.
