Impatient? No! I want her to stay in there for another 2.5 weeks! I am probably the only pregnant woman in history who is hoping to go past her due date. But I REALLY want my husband done school first. He finishes officially when I am 41+1, but is trying to write exams early, so it sounds like his last actual day may be when I am 40+4. I am 38+5 now, and yes, I am uncomfortable. My hips and back are constantly stiff and sore, I have trouble walking or doing anything, and I am always tired (even though I actually am very lucky and sleep well). But I still figure, she's easier to care for in there for now, and this way I can help my husband get through the crunch at the end, instead of him needing to do it alone and help me.
Emotional: Oh do I have a story for you! Its funny in hindsight. Friday, I had to get up early to take my husband to school. Well, ok, I am usually up at some crazy hour anyway these days, but still... I got home, and decided to tackle all the last minute things I needed for the birth. So I left, taking my little dog with me. She's a shih tzu. I don't use a leash on her usually, because she is extraordinarily obedient and because, right now, I can't bend over to put it on. Ok, we discover the elevator is on service, so we take the stairs down. I live on the 5th floor. We discover people are moving in. Go shopping. We come back a few hours later, and I am exhausted (as usual). They still aren't done. So I sit in my car for a bit, before deciding that I am NOT going up the stairs, and can run a few more errands.
So another few hours pass, and I can't go on. I am in pain, I am ready for a nap. I go home. They STILL aren't done. I decide I HAVE to get home, and tackle the stairs. Mind you, now I am carrying everything I bought. I make it to the 4th floor, and my dog RUNS BACK DOWNSTAIRS! I swear, she has never ever done this before! I tried calling her, no answer. I am SURE she went all the way down, to visit the people moving in. Realizing I had to go back down 4 flights of stairs, and then back up 5, I lost it. I was hysterical. I made it back down, called her to me, and sat on the bottom step, weeping. The people moving in were so upset that they got the land lady. She came rushing over, and of course, assumes something is ACTUALLY wrong. She figures either I am in labour, or I fell down the stairs.
After I am able to talk and explain it, she asks why I didn't just ask for the elevator. They would have let me use it between loads... well I don't want special treatment, I am used to doing everything myself and this never occurred to me. I got to meet the new people, who were quite concerned that they made a pregnant lady cry, and I was embarrassed I caused a scene. They got me the elevator, and I happily collapsed on my bed. Yeah... fun times.
