Can I join you?
My history with infertility is not as long or deep as many of your stories, but I empathize with everyone here. Our daughter took us 14+ cycles to conceive; we were diagnosed with unexplained infertility, and had two early losses before we really started trying to conceive. In the end, Clomid alone did the trick for us, and we were blessed with a really amazing little girl. We started trying for number 2 around her first birthday, knowing that it could take us a while to conceive. We started Clomid two cycles ago after trying for 6 months for #2, thinking that it would do the trick since it worked for us to conceive DD.
But, today after visiting my ObGyn for a follicle check at 15dpo and after taking 100mg of clomid (CD 3-7), we found no mature follicles even despite getting a + OPK and a peak reading on my monitor. So, it seems as though my body is having trouble producing mature follicles, and that my LH is surging before my follicles are mature. Does anybody know if this is a problem that could be related to breastfeeding or is it unrelated? Do you think that we could successfully address this by using FSH injections/HCG combo without weaning DD, or does it seem necessary to wean before investigating/pursuing treatment with an RE?
I'm torn because I really don't want to wean my DD (who is still nursing 4-10 times per day), but we are ready to be pregnant again and add to our family. Is anyone else here breastfeeding as well?
