Child Carriers « Back to Group Discussions

i've been looking around for a good child carrier, but i've found that so many have bells and whistles that i just don't need. i'm looking for something basic, serious, sturdy, and comfortable for all involved. with a nice dollar figure. 

i've looked at the ones at MEC: http://www.mec.ca/AST/ShopMEC/Packs/ChildCarriers/Carriers/PRD~5024-371/deuter-kid-comfort-iii-child-carrier-backpack.jsp this one looks nice, but is more then we'd like to pay and just seems to have too many extras. i know padding is a lovely thing, but this one looks like a bit much.

It was a little way down the page, easy to miss. 

I have no recommendations as I'm still trying to figure this out for myself. My acupuncturist/doula uses an Ergo which she loves. She has had it for her kid since he was about 6 months old and he's 3 now. I think it can go on the front or the back and she and her husband still use it to take the baby hiking and stuff.

We have a Moby for newborn age, and then a Boba (just like the Ergo, Becco etc). We would DIE without our Boba. I think I have used the stroller maybe 5 times. We are always on the go with Evangelina in the Boba. Its so comfortable for me and for her. DH loves to wear it too.
