Hello and Congrats to all the mamas! This will be our 4th baby in 5 years-we have a 4 almost 5 year old, 3 almost 4 year old, a 19 month old and today we just got the confirmation that we are expecting!! So far my DD is 12/21.  I'm 24, a SAHM doing my best at simple living. I've been married to DH for 6 years...he's definitely my lobster :)  I have had a med free water birth, emergency c/s after serious abruption, and a med-free accidentally almost unassisted VBAC. Since I've had 2 miscarriages we're hoping for a peaceful homebirth this time.

We live in Utah (moved cross country a couple of years ago and loooove the mountains!) DH is in his Master's program for Special Ed and I am doing distance learning for my MBA. We intend on homeschooling, I breastfeed, bake, frolic in the rain :), garden, write, and sew! I am sooooo very excited to get to know y'all!

Hello! I'm cautiously jumping in and so excited to be a part of this thread! We've been TTC our first since June 2010, and this past October I was diagnosed with PCOS/Insulin Resistance. They started me on Metformin and my cycles finally regulated. I had a chemical pregnancy in December at 10-12dpo.

I got two positives yesterday morning at 13dpo, and again this morning, which means I'm officially 4 weeks! My husband was shocked last night when I gave him a little present to open--a pair of tiny green converse low tops. :) He thought it would take us a lot longer and was over the moon.

I'm so excited to have people to share this with! We're only telling a few close friends who have known about our infertility journey but want to wait until we hear a heartbeat to tell others. I'm nervous about making sure I'm doing everything possible to prevent miscarriage, and have my first appointment on May 3rd (at 6 weeks).

Oh, and we really want to do a homebirth, but are planning to move to the UK in September (I'll be around 6 months), so I have no idea how that will play out!

told DH today....he made me go to DT and get another test....he is excited, and I am relieved!

HI! I am Erika, I am 26 and this is my 5th baby! This is the biggest gap I have had in kids, as I had twins in Sept. 05, a son in Oct 06, and another in Aug 08. The twins were not even 3 yet when my youngest was born, so I had 4 kids 2 and under! They were all in diapers too, life was INSANE. Since 2008 I have lost 7 babies (I had 1 loss in 07 between my last 2). I have had 12 pregnancies, resulting in 4 kids, and hoping this one sticks! This is the furthest I have been pregnant in 3 years, and the first time I have been pregnant in a year. I had 5 losses in 2010, 2 in 2011 and this is the first time since May 2011 I have been pregnant. I am hoping the break gave my body a chance to rest. My betas look good so far, rising good, unlike last time, so I am hoping that is a good sign! I also have tons of pg symptoms unlike most of my miscarriages. I am due December 16th. I carried twins 40 weeks 1 day though and never went into labor so I will probably go late lol.

I have had 3 sections, all for different reasons. First was twins (I was so duped there!), second was fetal distress after he stopped moving and heart rate dropped scary low which ended up being a true knot in his cord and a double wrapped cord, then third was a planned homebirth, but I ended up having a placental abruption at home and I transferred, my son almost died from meconium aspiration and I didnt get to touch him until he was 10 days old. The doctor said that it had nothing to do with me trying a homebirth, that these things happen in the hospital too, so I was happy to repeat that to all the naysayers :D My sections have all been for different, fluke reasons, and I plan on a strict, healthy diet this time, which is something I have not done in the past. I plan on a vba3c at home. I can not sign up for a csection in good conscious without it being medically necessary. Until THIS pregnancy has a problem, I will plan a vaginal birth. It will be over 4 years when this baby is born since my last birth, I believe that is AMPLE time to heal!!

As for me, I homeschool (1st graders and Kindy right now!), I breastfeed, I dont vax, I make slings, nursing covers, cloth diapers, all things baby pretty much... I am definitely going to have my hands full, but I am going to have lots of fun!

Hi all!  I'm Caylie, I'm 27 and this is our second baby.  We have a beautiful daughter born in 2011.  Definitely wasn't the plan to get pregnant right now - kind of wanted to wait until baby girl was 3.. but I guess plans change, eh?

I'm trying hard to be okay with this pregnancy... but it so isn't the right time for us... financially, insurance wise, living wise... Just lots of things that hopefully in 2 years would have been figured out.

I feel bad for saying that, since I know lots of women out there, it takes a long, long time for them to get pregnant.. And for us it's, one time, and bam, we're pregnant.

I know I just have to get over this hump, and I'll be excited like I was last time.

We'll figure things out, I'm sure of it... it's just the current moment that is freaking me out.

Hi, I'm Elizabeth! I'm 35... just got a positive test tonight, but I've suspected for a couple of days. My oldest daughter has been begging me to have another baby, but we didn't really plan this. It will be challenging to not tell her for a while because she's very perceptive. But she would be so devastated if I lost this pregnancy, so I don't want to tell her too soon.

Definitely feeling pregnant, smells are knocking me out, already feeling queasy and have a "full" feeling in my abdomen. I think I'll be 40 weeks at the end of December... however, I went 42 & 43 weeks with my first two so I doubt I'll have a December baby! :)

I have no clue what my siggy says, I'm sure it's so out of date... I have two girls, 8 and will be 6 yo on Sunday. :)

My daughter was born in 2/08. We had a CNM hospital birth, practiced extended breastfeeding, and EC.

I had a miscarriage that really shook me to the core in 12/10. I went in to labor and experienced the miscarriage at home with little medical intervention. Beginning to end, it lasted about 2 weeks.

My next baby is due 12/12. We are hoping for a home birth with a CPM/LM supporting the labor and birth. I would also like my DONA doula friend to join us.

According to my midwife, I'm currently about 7 1/2 weeks along, and due on Dec. 1.

It took longer that I expected to get pregnant this time, and I'm feeling some disbelief that it finally happened, mixed with excitement and worry. Something about having a miscarriage has definitely shifted my perspective on pregnancy (I'm sure I'm not alone on this feeling). Although I am really nervous about joining the group, I am feeling like I need a sense of community because I'm finding pregnancy after loss to be it's own kind of isolation -- if that makes sense.

Looking forward to another lovely MDC due date club here!  I am still in touch with mamas from my 5/06 baby's DDC and had a nice group for my daughter's 8/09 DDC too.

This wasn't a surprise pregnancy exactly but it's taking some adjusting to for me.  We tried in February and I really thought I was pg but got my cycle on the day I should have - but it was a weird cycle - only bled for about half the time I usually do.  Then I ovulated early, so although we did dtd then I really didn't expect it to take.  (I took a pg test which was negative in between there, so no, I'm not a month more pg than I think I am!)

And our life is in chaos in a lot of different ways, which I don't even want to list here.  So I'm definitely feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and a bit unreal.

Hi everyone! I am 8 weeks along with my first as of today (according to my ovulation charting... due in early December but hoping to go late for work reasons). I was an occasional lurker here on mothering for the last year or so while deciding when to start ttc. I've been charting my cycles to prevent conception for years but I began temping in February of 2012 hoping to gather data for ttc during March, April, or May 2012 cycles (since those worked out best for me in terms of work timing).

I'm a professor and my maternity leave will be longest if it corresponds to the end/start of a new semester term. So although late December would have been slightly preferable, that we had successful efforts during the first of our series of ideal cycles was a welcomed development. We have been married for nearly two years but together for nearly 9. We're both over 30 and waited a while to begin ttc due to my career concerns. I am still nervous about what having a family will mean for my work life balance and my career goals, but I decided it was time to go for it and our families are also very much thrilled.

Anyway, I look forward to learning from other first timers and from those of you for whom this is a second, third, fourth, etc. child! Thank you for the forum in which to learn!

Hi all,

I'm Rachel. I live in NY with my husband and toddler daughter, and found out we were pg with #2 a few weeks ago. This was an unexpected blessing, but we're excited. My tentative EDD is 11/28, so I don't *technically* belong here... but due dates are big giant guesses anyway. I was a HS guidance counselor and was out on an extended maternity leave, but now it looks like I'll be a SAHM for awhile longer. I'm hoping for a VBAC in a hospital with a MW group. I loved MDC when I was TTC and pregnant with my daughter, and I'm looking forward to chatting with you ladies!

Hello, all.

I'm Jackie. I found out yesterday I'm pregnant for the second time. I would have introduced earlier, but it took me quite a while to read all the introductions :)

We have an EDD of 12/29 or 12/31 (need to consult the midwife... didn't get the positive until what I thought was 17 dpo). I had a natural birth at my midwife's office with DD (6) and plan on a homebirth for this one.

I just joined MDC. The day after I found out I was pregnant with DD I bought my first Mothering magazine. I learned a lot, and look forward to getting to know everyone in this community.

Hello all, I'm jumping right in even though I have my first blood test this afternoon. EDD new years eve. My partner and I have a DD who will be two the week before Christmas so we think that another holiday baby will be wonderful. I don't feel as pregnant yet as I remember with DD but all the memories are fuzzy. We are still bread reding a few times a day and I am a mostly stay at home mom with a little college teaching and some coaching on the side. Excited to see a few other assisted reproduction babies here--we have been very lucky to achieve pregnancy now twice on the first try IUI!

Hi all!

This will be the first child for my husband and I. We were trying for only two months before conceiving and I feel great... suspiciously great, actually. I feel super lucky and thankful that everything has been so easy thus far, but there's an associated fear whenever anything you want something this bad and get it this easily. I'm only nearing 6 weeks now, however, so there's still lots of time for the glamorous nausea to kick in (hooray!). I do have some symptoms though, like feeling hungry and tired all the time, some manageable mood swings, and the twingey pains in my abdomen after I've been walking for a long time (apparently little embryo doesn't love exercise). I also had this terribly elegant bought of diarrhea for about two weeks, which actually turned out to be one of my first signs of pregnancy.

According to an online calculator, I will be due on December 21, 2012 (the day the world is supposed to end, if you like Mayans).

Hi all, I'm Melissa and Very Surprised to be Here!

I am expecting our 3rd. Due date is 30 December. Quite freaked out to be honest. DH was meant to have a vasectomy this month. Every day I am becoming more and more warmed to the idea though.
We will be having our 2nd home waterbirth, but this time I plan for it to be a lot calmer and go quicker and be easy peasy thankyouverymuch.
I have had a few miscarriages between my two, so I'm feeling a bit cautious and wont be telling anyone for a while.
Really looking to getting to know you all a bit better :)

Hi everyone this will be my 2 pregnancy. I have a wonderful 15 mos DS. me and my DH have been together 3 years and married 4 mos so we're planing on waiting a littie while but we super happy about this lil one. I'm 5 weeks and 4 days and I'm due the 25th. I went early the DS by 2 weeks so we'll just have to wait and see with this one!

A little info on my self, I am SAHM, I sew, bake, garden, I'm a big family myself the 4th oldest of 11 so I've been around babies most of my life. I strongly believe in Home birth and mid-wifery.
