Coffee...yes/no?

To coffee drinkers...are you completely dropping it or just limiting to 1 cup a day? I miss my coffee soooo much! Lol

I decided to stop caffeine completely around week 4....sad for me too! I switched to water-processed decaf and herbal teas but honestly think the 150mg caffeine in a cup of coffee is pretty mild and just a personal preference. However, after the first 3 days it's really not so bad to be without it and I sleep better. Good luck!

I normally drink way to much caffeine. I drop down to one cup of full strength Joe in the morning. If I am really lagging, I have a half-caf in the afternoon. But I also go through periods when I can't stomach.

As soon as I found out I was pregnant, I cut out my morning coffee. I really don't want to go back to it, but with two little ones who LOVE to get me up early, I'm not going to rule it out for the future....2whistle.gif  lol

I normally drink coffee-strength british tea in the morning. I cut down to one cup from two, which is giving me a headache. Hopefully that will subside soon. I plan to continue with the one cup unless I get insomnia.

I cut down from 3 cups a day to 1, and switched to caffeine free soda (I'm going to try to cut out the soda entirely, but I love it so!). I'm not giving up that last cup, though. And I have been allowing myself half caff in the afternoon if I need it (haven't so far).

I stopped drinking coffee as soon as I saw a positive. I had been off coffee for a couple years before (while TTC DD, pregnant with her and while BF). When I stopped BF DD in Jan, I slowly started drinking coffee again and was up a 1 cup a day. Because I knew I had done it before (and while working nightshifts at the time!), I wasn't that worried. I know I'll be back to drinking it again once I'm done BF this little one (in a couple years!)

I've cut down from 3 cups a day to 2 cups a day. My "cups" are really espresso shots, though, so I'm trying to hold it at 200 mg per day.

I have swtiched to decaf, and loving it! Does anyone know if i have to limit the intake of decaf coffee, or can drink as much as i want?

I had just started drinking regular coffee again occasionally a couple of weeks ago. I switched back to decaf though as soon as we got a positive test. I only have one cup of either that or chai tea a day.

I'm not much of a coffee drinker but I plan to continue my one cup of green tea a day, or black tea if I feel like I need an extra boost. I have been getting a cappuccino once a week at the farmer's market, but I think I'll put that on hold. It makes me jittery, but it's so yummy!

With my first pregnancy I cut out caffeine completely and that was easy. OJ was my morning drink of choice. With my last pregnancy I kept drinking my morning cup o' joe. I just have 1-2 cups so this time I'm going to do the same. I love my morning coffee :)

Since I'm in graduate school and have a 1 year old who is not sleeping through the night, I'm having my morning coffee.  1 cup of half reg/half decaf.  As soon as I can, I'll switch to just 1 cup of decaf a day.  I often want an afternoon boost as well, but I've been doing fruit smoothies instead, which have been very helpful!

Well I decided to keep it to 1 cup otherwise I am falling asleep by noon! Lol I love tea as well but I am so used to coffee every morning that I think the complete withdrawal would be really harsh smile.gif so until I get an aversion to coffee, which happened with my first pregnancy, I will continue enjoying that 1 little cup smile.gif

I'm not cutting back at all. I usually have 1.5-2 cups per day, and maybe some decaf in the evenings.

I stopped basically at week 4 because it began making me dizzy. I usually make french press at home and it is pretty strong but I was out of town and had a latte and was immediately like, "oh man this is no good" after I took the last delicious sip. Dizziness set in and I've avoided since. I have had the occasional sip of caffeinated tea or soda but I actually feel fine without my morning coffee which is a first for me since my teenage years! I might start back up after the first trimester if the dizziness it causes subsides.

Just limiting to one cup (if that) perday. I have an active 17 month-old DD, so technically I should be entitled to a caffeine IV.
