Vax - Well, I can say that we delay vax due to my MIL being a transplant patient. She cannot be around anyone for at least 3 weeks after any Vax. They have not batted an eyelash at all (whereas our old Ped tried to fight it tooth and nail), or at least Dr. McDowell has not as she is who we see for well child check ups. I know many LLL parents use them up this neck of the woods as well.
Even with all the kids they see, the nurses remember the faces/kids and really put forth that they enjoy being around them, etc. I have not felt them be rash or harsh with the kids. Even the Docs get down on level with the kids when discussing things with them. I also don't feel a push for medications all the time like you do from many practices.
Nursing - Well, I can tell you that Dr. McDowell is the only reason my youngest son was nursed. If my old ped and the feeding specialists at children's had their way, he would have been on formula with thickners in a bottle. Dr. McDowell did not seem pushy for formula, and even discussed with medical students nursing, increasing supply, etc. There were times when I had to go and pump in the early days with what was going on with him, and they were running a bit late. They would let me sneak back into an unused exam room and pump and when our turn came, just let the Pediatrician know where we were, if I was not done at the time. She was very supportive of a parents right to choose how to feed their child (formula or nursing).
