What to do about something stuck in baby teeth?

I searched the archives for an answer but didn't find anything, so I hope that doesn't mean I'm the first mama to let this happen!

There seems to be something stuck between the bottom two front teeth of my son, age 10.5 months. It's the skin of a blueberry. At least I hope it is. It could be navy blue carpet fluff. But I really think it's blueberry skin.

Anyway, I've tried getting it out with my fingers, brushing the bottom teeth, and letting him chew on his toothbrush. No luck. Is it OK to try floss? It seems like an appropriate thing to do, but I can't figure out how to floss without hurting his gum, gagging him, or getting bitten.

Thank you!

Flossing won't hurt his gum....If you wrap the floss so there is just an inch or so of floss, you wouldn't gag him either. It's actually a good idea to start flossing all of his teeth now, anyway. You could also buy one of those flosser tools with a handle.
