Food sensitivities? Elimination/rotation diet?

If you know of any forums for sensitivities that are helpful, please let me know. I found one, but it is very inactive and was not helpful. I took the ALCAT and my dr has me avoiding things for 6 months, and doing everything that's left on a rotation diet, only eating each food at least every 4 days.It may sound easy, but since all this came about, I have lost about 15 lbs in 6 weeks, have become very depressed and anxious. My overall health has gotten much worse than before I even knew about the sensitivities.

So really, I'm looking for information about how to do this diet, how sensitivities work, alternatives to the way my dr has me doing it, things like that.

What about the GAPS diet? What is that?

Thanks, jtcarter14

What about resources for protein drinks, meal replacements, and vitamins/supplements that are formulated without allergens?

6 months seems like a long time for a single food.  But maybe the other posters have different experiences with their EDs.  Is the intent simply to identify first?  Or to eliminate all symptoms from?  I personally don't think you need 6 months to identify a trigger, though 6 months to completely eliminate all symptoms from an allergen might be necessary in some cases.

Anyone else?

My sensitivities were identified by a blood test. So I guess it's to allow time for my gut to heal and somehow not be sensitive to some of those foods anymore after the 6 months. I'm not 100% sure.
