Tailbone pain

I've noticed that my tailbone is hurting lately no matter what type of chair I sit in, and my job is sedentary so unfortunately I end up sitting a lot. Is this just because I'm getting heavier, or is there some other cause that I can address with posture or stretching? I try to sit forward off my tailbone as much as possible, but I usually end up sitting back at least part of the time because I need to "rest" from the forward position sometimes. Is there a type of cushion or support I can use to help alleviate the discomfort?

Go to the chiropractor. Something is out, sometimes our tailbones can shift a bit, especially if a hip is out or something . I was having tailbone problems earlier in the pregnancy and the chiro has resolved it. It was about 2-3 days after the adjustment and the discomfort went away.

I have a friend who is preggo right now and she had the same results.

OK thanks! I've never been to a chiropractor but I keep hearing that advice for other things too, so maybe it's time to check one out.

I am so excited to go to my chiropractor tomorrow morning! Good luck. Hope you find a good one.

You can find one trained in pregnancy adjustments at www.icpa4kids.org. They don't seem to list every chiro who falls into this category, but it's a place to start if you're having trouble finding someone. I sprained my tailbone at about 4mo along with #2 and my chiro sorted me right out (along with a bunch of other aches and pains).

Thanks for the link! Looks like there are a few not too far from me.
